Ring ring. Ring ring.

The sound cleared as someone on the other end picked up the call.

"Hello?" A tired voice emanated from the speaker of your small phone.

"Hey Robin, what's up?"

"Oh hey (Y/n). I only just got up, so please excuse my voice." The voice on the other end perked up a bit, now recognising his caller.

You chewed your bottom lip lightly as you reconsidered asking them to hang out today. Harry spotted your tiny nervous habit.

"Stop chewing your lip (Y/n), you'll make it bleed,"

"Wha- Oh. Sorry, I didn't even notice," You avoided chewing your lip again, making a mental note of it.

"So, what'd you call for (Y/n)?" Robbie cleared his throat, trying to sound more awake.

"I was gonna ask if-" Another, even sleepier voice, butted in on the conversation.

"Rob, what time is it? Who're- Oh it's (Y/n). Hey dude, is your 'not-boyfriend' with you?" Nico appeared to have finally woken up. To be honest, you wouldn't have been surprised if he had slept through the entire call.

"If you mean-"

"Yeah, I'm here too Nico. How'd you sleep?" You huffed quietly. For one, he didn't need to interrupt you, and two, why didn't he correct them?

'Don't overthink it, you know you'll overthink it.... You're overthinking it.'

"Good, this hotel is awesome! There's really good food, the view is great-could've done with a higher floor though- and the bed is so comfy!" Nico's raving pulled you back into the moment, and out of your quicksand of thoughts.

"Do you actually want to change rooms to a higher floor? I could arrange for it,"

"Well if you-"

"No it's alright. This floor is fine. It's only a room," Robin cut across his fiancée's response, not wanting to trouble the young billionaire.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes." Robin ended the discourse about the topic.

You cleared your throat awkwardly, feeling a bit like you were shoved out of the conversation. Inhaling gently, you prepared to speak again.

"So, are you guys okay to hang out today?"

There was mumbling at the other end of the call. The couple's voices muddled together in a string of incoherent words. You glanced at Harry, who simply shrugged and stared at your phone.

There was silence. Then Robin spoke up. "Yeah, we can hang out today. We just have to make a call. What time do you wanna come meet at the hotel?"

You grinned at your phone. 'Yes! But, they need to make a call? Does that mean they were busy? Did they have something important to do?'

You didn't want to put them out of their way. Yes, you guys were friends, but if they're busy you could always try some other day. Maybe you could tag along with them instead? They did come because of their band, after all. Wait, where was the rest of their band? Why weren't they there at the airport too?

"Did you already have plans?" Harry asked the question for you.

Nico responded, you could practically hear the nonchalant nod in his voice. " Well yeah, we were gonna pick the rest of the band up at the airport but if you guys-"

"You had to pick up your band at the airport?! Why the hell didn't you say before? Jeez, honestly. You don't have to stop your plans for us," You felt the cloudy headache form, and the heat in your breath seemed more prevalent. Why would they not say anything?

But, you didn't want to miss anymore time with the people you cared about. Not anymore. 'Fuck! Stop spiralling! Focus!'

"...Sorry, (Y/n). We didn't mean to upset you. It's just, we don't get to spend time with you guys. We don't want to waste any," Robin's gentle voice emanated through the pause of conversation, attempting to soothe you.

A pit formed in your stomach, and your heart tugged towards it, as if it was weighed down by the guilt. You swallowed thickly, realising what your outburst caused. Did you overreact? Possibly. Do you regret it now? Absolutely.

"I'm sorry Robbie. I didn't mean to yell. It's just- You already made plans, with people who are important to you. I think it'd be wrong of us to get in the way of that,"

Robin's calm, soothing voice persisted. "It's alright, really. We would rather spend time with both of you,"

Silence. Then, Harry piped up with an alternative. "What if we joined you?"

"What?" Both Nico and Robin were confused.

"Well, what were you planning to do once they landed? We could tag along,"

Robin paused, recalling his plans. "Well... We were just gonna drop their stuff off at the hotel, and then go get lunch? I think that's what we were gonna do,"

Nico piped in. "Yep. I double checked the messages. We agreed to pick them up at twelve, which is IN AN HOUR! We need to get ready! Rob why didn't you set an alarm or something?!"

There was a lot of shuffling in the background as, presumably, they began getting ready.

"If it's not too much to ask, can you come pick us up? It'll be fastest,"

"Sure," you and Harry replied in sync, sparing an amused glance at each other once you realised.

"We'll see you then." There was a little ping, signalling the end of the call. You turned to Harry while putting your phone away.

"Let's go then," Harry nodded in response to your statement. He pulled out his cellphone and sent a message, to his chauffeur you assumed.

He put his phone away and interlaced his fingers with yours once more, pulling you along with him to wherever he was going. You took the time to look around again. At the streetlights, not yet on, the muggy weather, the way light shone off the glass windows of stores.

Listening to the ground crunching beneath your feet, the hum of cars passing, the muted noise of people walking. Feeling the breeze nip at your cheeks, the warmth of that oh-so familiar hand in yours. Life, at its simplest.

You both stopped at a street corner, where, shockingly, the car was already there, waiting for you, ready to take you to your friends. Harry, being the gentleman he was, let go of your hand and opened the door for you.

You entered the dark, comfortable backseat of the vehicle, sending a grateful nod towards him. He followed behind you, letting the door shut behind him. Once your partner was seated, he addressed the driver.

"Evelyn Hotel, please"

"Yes sir,"
