The car door shut behind you as you stepped out the taxi. You breathed deeply, the scent of exhaust and dust attacking your nose as you calmed your nerves. Two days later, at least for you, and one taxi ride later. You were at the airport, about to meet your friends again after so long. You had them all again, Nico, Robin and Harry. Plus, you had Peter too now, and Gwen!

It was weirdly pleasant to see how many people were in your life again, so suddenly. Part of you felt that it wasn't going to last, that your friends only came back because something much worse was going to happen, but you shook the thought off, hoping that maybe, possibly, you'd be okay. You'd be given mercy and be happy again. You would leave and start your own life with the people you loved, the people who loved you.

But you weren't here to wallow in your thoughts, you had friends to see. You shivered and wiggled to dissipate the remaining nerves and made your way to where they should come out. There was a mass of people there, holding signs, yelling names and creating pandemonium. The crowded, suffocating atmosphere overwhelmed you, clouding your judgement and logic. So you  stood outside instead, and texted the couple that you were just outside, waiting for them.

While you stood there, shuffling back and forth impatiently, a sleek, black limousine pulled up in front of you. The door opened, revealing a very smug blue-eyed man. "Impressed?"

You were, but you wouldn't admit it. "I liked Jack and Laura's minivan more."

"That's unfair though. You can't compare the likes of gods to my measly, manmade one." He pouted, and you laughed. He was right though, nothing could really compare to their minivan. There was nothing extremely special about it, but the feelings it gave you were unparalleled.

Harry stood next to you, scanning the area for your awaited arrivals. Finally, you could see a carrot-topped head with a beanie crammed down on it walking towards the exit with a fluffy black-haired dome next to him. And a mass of screeching girls behind them. You never really thought about it, but when Nico and Robin started a band, and it became so popular, life would be like this for them.

You winced as they hurried out, attempting to lose the mob of fans. You waved frantically, trying to get their attention. "OI! ROBBIE! NICO!"

They rushed to you, their luggage bouncing on the concrete with them. Their eyes signalled only one word. 'Help'

You and Harry took action, shielding them as they passed, fumbling to get their luggage in  the trunk. But your sweet gummy bear Haribo also seemed to rile up the fans, his attractive and famous face instantly recognised by the eager group. One was bold enough to reach towards him, spurring you into action.

You stood in front of him, blocking him with your arms outstretched. Nasty glares were sent your way for obstructing their imaginary chances with your friends. Being the only one in your group to not be world-renowned, you simply seemed like a bodyguard or a gutsy nobody. You whispered to the boy cowering behind your protection.

"Get in the car with Nico and Robbie, I'm right behind you." He squeezed your shoulder in thanks and practically dove into the backseat beside your friends. This only provoked some within the mob, leading them to want to take their anger out on you. Yelling was heard as you wanted to retreat, but couldn't without potentially hurting someone.

'There' You saw an opening, and pulled back to the car, almost jumping into the car and closing the door after you. You all but landed in Harry's lap, sprawled on him before scrambling into a more dignified position. The car pulled away from the curb and onto the road, leaving the now dispersing crowd of fans in the dust.

Harry slipped his hand into yours, unnoticed by the exhausted couple. "Are you okay?"

You nodded. He let out a sigh and rested his head on your shoulder, relaxing in your warmth. This was obviously seen, and they just had to point it out.

"I swear you two are dating." Nico pulled off his beanie, revealing short, fluffy hair and bangs. No more mohawk. You had to admit, it looked good.

"Shut up, you're the one who got fucking engaged without telling your friends." You glared playfully at him, earning a nervous chuckle from the bird leaning against the culprit.

"It was only...." Robin trailed off, earning disapproving looks from you and your seat buddy.

He caved immediately. "......A year." It was almost too quiet to hear. But you heard, and oh you were livid.

"A year? DUDE! I could've died in a year!" You knew it wasn't the best point, but it was true. Nico opened his mouth to retort, but closed it again after realising that you were right. Harry winced at your volume, but only squished your hand as a sign.

You calmed yourself, the bubbling excitement for them and slight annoyance mixing int one and the same. Once you were sane again, you resumed speaking. "Actually, thanks for telling us. You could've gotten married and only tell us when you had your first child. So thanks for telling us now."

Their heads were blank for a minute. "....Are you being serious or sarcastic?"

You huffed, but understood. Anyone could think you were being snide and spiteful with that wording. "I'm being serious. It's your business and I'm glad you were willing to share it. No matter how long you took to tell us."

"Okay, well.. Thanks. For helping us out with those fans." Nico adjusted to sit more comfortably in his seat, shuddering as he remembered his 'fans'.

"What was up with that though? Since when were you guys so famous?" Harry spoke up after being a silent witness to your conversation. You felt a pang of embarrassment. All your friends, well, almost all your friends, were famous. You felt like a pigeon among eagles, a cat among lions, a weed among beautifully cultivated flowers.

"I dunno. I guess our music is more popular in the U.S. than Europe." Robin shrugged, yawning at the end of his statement. He snuggled into his fiancée, drifting off to sleep, followed by said fiancée.

You stared out the tinted windows, letting the darkened blur of people, buildings and plants flow past you, entertaining and clearing your busy mind.
