The Outbreak After the Election

1st Part

Washington D.C January 1st, 2021, the election just ended, and Biden won but we did not care. Society doesn't know about us since we are hidden right beneath the ground with our entrance being an opening within the sidewalks near a Whole Foods Market so that we are able to steal food each time the store is about to close. We are video gamers; we do not really need much. Our identities are hidden, and we make money off just playing.

"Hey Dante!" Augustus yelled over as he was in the middle of a match. "Stop writing in that little journal of yours, you know no one will be reading it."

I realized that Shaggy was working on a new video while watching the television and Simon was busy watching horror movies. I should be heading my way towards my desk to create some content for the millions watching at home.

Many hours go by and Simon stops watching horror movies which he then made his way to the hall towards the shooting range to practise his aim, he then closed the door so that not much gun shot noises come through disturbing the other 3. Shaggy's television has the election and its 290 to 214 with Biden in the lead. A sudden ruckus forms beneath them like some sort of earthquake began to happen, but it only lasted about 10 seconds, they hear a plane fly close to them sounding like its too close to the ground, the plane shaking while they hear loose cargo fly out one by one hitting the ground and silent screams sounding like one of the planes wings is caught on fire. Augustus quickly switches from his game to the security cameras and sees that the plane is in fact burning but instead of loose cargo its bodies falling flat onto the ground.

"The plane looks to be crash landing towards the White House" Augustus said being wildly confused.

Simon comes out from the shooting range, "Check if the bodies are beginning to stand back up." Simon telling him while having a slight knowledge on what is happening.

Augustus then checks the next camera to see a woman stand up from just been fallen from high in the air. "It's a zombie apocalypse isn't it Simon?" Augustus having worry in his voice.

"I believe so, but don't worry. We are definitely prepared for what is about to come" Simon said with bravery.

"Who said I was worrying; this is literally like a dream come true" Augustus laughed with excitement in his voice.

More bodies were hitting the ground and the security cameras were on as we watched terror across the city begin to erupt, no one was ready for this to happen neither did the four gamers, everything that was taught through gaming is in their knowledge now. All they need to do is get those materials, luckily, they have duct tape in order to force items together to make weapons. Shaggy grabbed the blueprint of Washington D. C's tunnel system.

"We cannot tell if the zombies are World War Z fast or Walking Dead slow." Shaggy calmly said while placing the blueprint flat onto the table. "The tunnels might be the safest way, but we have little amounts of material and ammo that is stored in our shooting range, building weapons like in Dead rising is the best chance for us, so that we don't use up all of our ammunition. The ammunition could be better for the other humans that won't cooperate with us and we have to actually pull out our pistol fast having them not shoot first."

"That sounds like you've just taken all of that information from video games and movies... I didn't think of you as the zombie type" Augustus questioned.

"Where did you think I got all that information from? Wikipedia?" he humorously replied back

"There is a Whole Foods Market we have been taking from for a while, maybe that has some items that isn't really a weapon that we can turn into?" I replied. "But there might be zombies inside and close to that store."

"Dante, do you really think the zombies have turned the other humans into other zombies that fast?" Shaggy said

"Well let's check the cameras and see" I then said.

The cameras replayed back to when a zombie had just bit someone, and that zombie got shot in the head by another human making that bitten human turn within seconds.

"Does that answer your question?" I exclaimed, "Also notice how the headshot is a true area to shoot them? in order for them to drop dead."

"We could try and wait for most of those zombies to get away from the store" Augustus said

"That may take to long, lets try to armor up with the useful material we have right now" Simon replied
