Hunter's POV:
As I entered my room, I could feel Kaylee's eyes scanning my body. I felt her cheeks burn under my stare and I grinned, happy of the effect I had on her. Honestly, I completely forgot she was still here, but considering the amount of work we had to do I understood completely.
-So, I began, you like what you see?
-Hum, no. She answered boldly, but she muttered under her breath a quick yes so soft that only vampires could possibly have heard it.
-Come on we have work to do! I said laughing.
-Now you want to work? Unbelievable. She retorqued rolling her eyes and it made me laugh
-Would you mind putting on some clothes before? She continued
I rapidly put on a t-shirt and made my way to my desk, scanning what she wrote.
-So you really want to work on World War Two? I asked her.
-Hmm-hmm, she only said not even looking at me.
-You know a great fact about that war... I continued
-What? She answered finally looking back at me.
-People talked about a murderer, someone who was visiting each camp and killing people at night. I said mysteriously looking at her making sure my eyes were directly looking into hers.
-That's not even true, why would people say such things? She said rolling her eyes again
-Oh, but I'm not done. I said grinning and then I continued. He would leave his victims, their heads cut off and with a terrified look on their faces. The work of an animal, a cold-blooded monster. He didn't have mercy for anybody, whether they were German or French or British... He killed them all.
-How do you know it's a he? She questioned me, looking all intrigued.
-Well, women at this time could never do such things, they were too busy at home. I said laughing
-Jerk. She said, rolling her eyes again but then I saw a hint of her smile
-You know they might get stuck back there if you continue to roll them all the time.
I sat back on my bed and looked at her laugh. For these brief moments, her blood wasn't the only thing that interested me. She went back to work but yawned as soon as she took her pencil in her hand.
-Come here for a sec Kaylee. I asked her politely which wasn't normally the way I asked people to do things.
She shyly stood up and sat beside me, but as far away from me as she could on my king-sized bed, cause after all I was a vampire and I needed to be comfortable. As soon as she was sitting down, I did something I never thought I would do...
-You look tired and it's getting pretty late, you can stay here, I'll take the guest bedroom.
-Oh I can walk home, It's not necessary. She quietly said, like she suddenly lost all her confidence
-I insist. You never know what could happen alone in these woods at night... I softly answered
-Now you're scaring me, Mr. Quinn! She uttered.
And then I simply laughed
Kaylee's POV:
Here I was, laying down in Hunter's bed. Gosh, why am I here again? Was I thinking correctly when I chose to stay here? He lived with his Esme, which is his sister and not his girlfriend like I thought earlier today, and with another weird guy. I didn't know if it was his dad, his brother or his uncle because frankly, he looked quite young to be their dad. As soon as Hunter left the room, a bunch of weird and confusing thoughts filled my head. What was this mysterious guy doing to me? And most importantly, what was he hiding? My thoughts begin to drift away, focusing only on his lips. They looked so nice to kiss. Wait, what? Nah-uh, I'm not going to fall for his traps. It's the last time I'm staying over. Or is it? God, what am I even saying? Get a grip, Kaylee. You're just a game to him. Stupid but handsome as hell boy. Ugh.
Hunter's POV:
If it had been any normal girl, I would have jumped on the occasion to sleep in the same bed as her. But Kaylee was no normal girl. God, what am I saying, I sound like a boy in love. Which I am not. NOT. AT. ALL. I'll never be in love. Never again... I'm better off on my own. After the last time, I swore I would never let myself fall in love again. I was young, naive and stupid then. Now, I'm a strong vampire who can control his urges. Well, most of the time. When that Kaylee girl isn't around. But what I would do for a drop of her blood. Only a small droplet. She makes me feel beyond crazy and I'm a blood-sucking animal, so crazy is my middle name. Why can't I get her out of my head and like think about that Georgia girl, or Ginny or was it Grace? Who cares. She must not have been that memorable if I forgot her name. Kaylee seems to be the only girl that lives rent-free in my head.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
Who's knocking at this time of the night?
-Come in I guess. I yelled towards the door as I sat down on my bed.
There she was. Kaylee. In all her greatness. Wearing the clothes I lent to her. God, she looked like a goddess. An angel from heaven. And she was walking toward me
