Chapter Six: What's your secret?

Lisa's POV:

I need to get out of here now! I looked around the crowded cafeteria but all I saw were the other girls getting in a long crooked line to be checked. "L-Lisa are you okay?" Ana stuttered. I looked up at her, so young and frail yet hurt so much by this cruel world. I can't let her know my secret, not yet at least. She has enough to worry about already so I calmly replied, "I'm fine Ana why are you asking?". She glanced at me and said, "Oh, you- you wouldn't lie to me right..?" "No Ana I wouldn't lie to you without good reasoning okay? I promise that to you," I replied. I do have good reasoning, I don't want to lie but I have to for her. "Now why don't you go get in that line andget checked so you can get out of here,' I said. "Okay," then she skipped off.

I'm freaking out, how am I supossed to get out of here but how? "Hey Lisa over here," I heard a whisper near the rusted back window and walked over out of curiosity. I pushed the window fully open and replied to the whisper. "Um, is someone out here?" "It's me, Jack what was this important assembly about?" he asked me. 'I'll tell you but first I need you to help me get out of here I can't go through the front doors. So please help me out of here." He looked at me strangely then said, 'Uh, okay I'll help you. Here's what you do, when no one is looking at you jump out of the window it's low enough. it seems like everyone is busy over by the doors so you jump on three okay?" Once he said three I jumped trough and we ran out to the back of the orphanage. 

"Why couldn't you go through the front doors?" Jack asked. How can I reply to that! Once he knows  my secret he'll hate me I don't know what to do but I can't lie to him. "Uh, well it's a little complicated anyways the assembly was held because they found a blood stained blade in the girls hall... at the end they wanted to check everyone's wrists, thighs, and stomach." I could see a sense of worry growing on his face, "Then why couldn't you just get checked and then leave, why sneak out?" 

Oh no, now what do I say! I just sat there unknowing of anything to say. "Lisa, can I ask a favor?", Did he forget the topic? "Of course you can, what is it?', I replied. 

He stood directly across from me across from me and said, " Lisa, show me your wrist."
