Sophie's POV

"W-what? Why?!" I sputtered. "Bye Foster." Keefe whispered, running away. I leaned against the Foxfire building and sank to the floor. "What's wrong with her now?" Stina snickered, passing by her. I ignored her and continued to sob. "Sophie?" Someone said, shooing Stina away. Linh came up and sat next to her. "I'm so sorry." She murmured. "I saw the whole thing." She said. "Saw what?" I asked. "Y-you don't know?" Linh gasped. "Know what?" I demanded. "I'm not sure if I should tell you..." Linh said. "Tell me!" I shouted, getting up. "Okay..." Linh agreed.

Linh POV (a few minutes before Keefe broke up with Sophie)

I skipped out of school when I saw Fitz with Keefe. Huh I thought, hiding in the shadows. "If you don't break up with Sophie right this instant, I'll make sure that she'll never have a single peaceful day in Foxfire." I heard Fitz hiss. "I won't let that happen." Keefe snapped. "Oh yeah? She's already suffering and it's just the beginning. I saw her crying in that valley earlier. She was crying buckets." Fitz said. I glanced at the valley. Keefe seemed to freeze. "You...are so evil!" I heard Keefe gasp. "Yeah right. If you don't break up with her, you'll be even more evil than me." Fitz said. I saw Keefe stare at Fitz and then say, "If I do that then you HAVE to stop the rumor."

"Of course." Fitz agreed. Keefe hesitantly ran into the valley. I gasped. When Fitz was gone, and Keefe ran back out, trembling, I sprinted into the dark valley. Sophie was crying and I knelt to comfort her.

Normal POV Present

"That-IT WAS FITZ'S DOING?!" Sophie yelled. Linh nodded. "THAT'S IT!" Sophie yelled. She wiped her tears away and stomped away. "Oh and...thanks Linh."

"You're welcome."

"RITZ SAVORY CRACKER!" Sophie screamed, storming in front of him. "What?" He asked. "You told Keefe to break up with me." She said. "No." he batted his eyelashes. "Stop lying." She begged. Fitz sighed. "Why does it have to be him?" He asked. "Um what?" Sophie asked him. "Why does it have to be Keefe Sencen?!?!!?" He asked again, louder. "Why can't it be Keefe?" Sophie asked. "Aren't you guys like friends?" Sophie asked. "We used to be." Fitz corrected. "What do you mean you used to be?" Sophie asked. "Exactly how it sounds like Sophie Foster." Fitz said. Biana pulled Fitz back with tears in her face. "Stop it Fitz. You've done enough. Can't you see that you've hurt all of your friends?" She softly said. Fitz became interested in his shoes all of a sudden. "Fitz just let us live our lives." Sophie whispered. "I'm so sorry." Fitz whispered back. "Well I'm glad you came to your senses." Linh said, appearing out of nowhere. "AHEM!" A booming voice said. They all looked up and saw Magnete Leto. Sophie managed to squeak out a sorry. "You should be in your class, am I correct?" He said. "Yes sir." Linh said. "Then WHAT are you doing here? Go! Now!" Magnete Leto ordered. "Okay." They said, rushing to their classes.

After class, people stopped staring and whispering. "Hey, Sorry I said that you were dating your second boyfriend." Someone said. "Oh, um...It's fine." Sophie said. Huh. Fitz must've fixed it. Sophie thought. She mouthed, 'thank you' to Fitz and Keefe went up to her. "Sophie! I'm so sorry! Fitz said that-"

"Yes, yes. I know Keefe." Sophie said. "He also said that if I date you, he won't mess with us anymore." Keefe said. Sophie smiled. "Let's date then."
