"tae, did jimin get you a birthday present?" bogum asked me. bogum is jimin's older brother, we've known each other since i've known jimin, but i'm closer to jimin. he's still a good friend, though. we were sitting on a table across from each other, at starbucks. it was the morning, like 9 am, on a saturday. my birthday was yesterday.
"no," in fact, he didn't, and i was expecting him to get me one. he always does, if anything, he would give me gifts randomly just because 'i'm the best, best friend ever.'
it was getting pretty quiet, bogum was staring out the window whilst i was pouting while shaking my hot chocolate (i don't like coffee) because it was too hot.
"it's supposed to snow tomorrow," bogum ended the awkward moment. "we can go ice skating if you want."
ice skating. i'm not good or bad at it, but i guess i just need a little time to get my mind off things. "yeah, we can go! what time though??"
bogum lightly chuckled at my response. "2 pm? i have a doctor's appointment in the morning and a new year's party to attend in the afternoon so-"
"yes! ok," i interrupted him and said while getting up. "that reminded me i have a doctor's appointment in 15 minutes." lie.
"oh, ok," he said, mildly shocked. "i can drive yo-"
"no! i'm good," i fake-laughed. "it's like 7 minutes away. thanks for the drive here, though!" i rushed to put my coat on and waved at him as i left. as soon as i got out, i ran towards jimin's apartment which was 7 minutes away. i didn't care. i needed to talk to him.
