One hour. That's how long ago Harry had been at Hogwarts, and no surprise, everyone knew him. "Hey, mate," a familiar voice from nearby called out to him. Harry was just exiting AP french when Ron greeted him. He returned the warm greeting and walked with Ron to the library to pick up a book that he needed for the upcoming geography class that he waited until the last minute to prepare for. Upon entry, Harry the back of the brunette who had recently taken residence of his home. He looked at the girl with a nose in her book as if it was the only thing in the world that mattered. "You know if you want to snog her, she lives down the hall from you." Ron teased and Harry playfully hit him upside the head like his name was Molly Weasley. "Don't be ridiculous. And we should be talking about you and Luna."
Ron scoffed and rolled his eyes, "Nothing happened at the manor." Harry chuckled. "But do you like her?" Harry asked. Ron remained quiet but a light tint of red spread across his cheeks giving Harry the answer he needed. "Congrats, mate. She's definitely better than all your other ex-girlfriends." Harry chuckled. "Listen, can we just get my book and get to class. Plus, we got to go meet up with Cedric, Dean, Seamus and Oliver on the field to practice for your football tryouts after that. I don't know how or why you're trying out for football when a psycho killer is looking for you." Ron whispered before they approached.
While the boys were engaged in their conversation and making their way out of the library, Hermione sighed in relief. From the moment she heard Harry's laughter upon entry, she took the nearest book and held it up to her face. She ignored Harry's presence and pretended as if she didn't see him. She didn't know why she was so nervous around him. Even though they'd only been together for no more than a day, Hermione couldn't help but feel the beating of her heart intensify the more his face popped into her head. The few times they had touched brought on a new shade of red to her face.
There was something about his chiselled features, great green eyes, messy dark hair, kind smile and gentle touch that made her tremble with delight. And after she arrived with him this morning, things had changed. All of a sudden, people were saying 'hi' to her in the hallways, willingly partnering up with her in classes and not asking her to do all the work, remembering her name and asking her to join their clubs.
Now as she walked down the halls yet again, on her way to her science class, the most fearful class at Hogwarts, she couldn't help but acknowledge all the glances she received on her way. When she entered the class, she was in fright. There was the one and only Harry Potter sitting next to Ron. Hermione walked over to Luna and her empty chair, then took a seat trying to avoid Harry's gaze. Luna and Ron had been exchanging glances the whole time Hermione sat there with her face glued to the book page before her.
Then, as if things couldn't get any worse, Cho Chang walked in and found herself in the only available seat which just so happen to be right behind Hermione. "Morning, Bucktooth," Cho greeted Hermione with an annoying grin. The nickname 'Bucktooth' was like nails on a chalkboard for Hermione, to say the least. Because of her younger self's protruding front teeth, Cho gave her the name 'Bucktooth' and continued to address her as such even after she'd fix her dental problem.
Of course, the greeting was ignored and Hermione focused on other things. While the brilliant Granger avoided Cho's teases, a certain Potter was making plans for other things. "Harry James Potter, you're bloody brilliant. But do you think she'll do it?" Ron asked. Harry had heard of his best friend's infatuation with Luna Lovegood and thought to himself how he was going to help his lovesick friend. The idea then came at the sound of the sight of an annoyed Hermione Granger. It was Cho, as per usual. Cho wasn't a stranger to Harry Potter. She was one of many flirty girls who Harry had often run-ins with whenever he attended different events. "How about I ask Luna to switch seats with me so you two can talk and partner up for the class. You'll have to talk to her because of the work and they'll be no reason for the awkwardness."
