"... Once in a while the pain falls asleep on the job, and the experienced sufferer knows enough to seize such moments swiftly and without thought...

Alice's pov
Gratitude. Somedays it feels like life's gone to shit. Days like today, where I'm just happy to be alive.
I woke up in Grace's arms, feeling her warmth and listening to the sound of her heart. I felt her beat and mine syncing. The room was so silent that you could hear the air flowing. Her scent was mesmerizing, tricking my brain into thinking I'm somewhere else, like I'm in a flower garden filled with all different types of aromas. I loved how she smelled, it calmed me down.
"Good morning" I heard Grace's voice sound sleepy and a little husky
Her grip tightened on me and she squeezed me into a tighter hug."Good morning, beautiful" I replied looking at her like she was a diamond, but I've only known her for so little. How did she have this effect on me?
"You haven't forgotten about your meeting with the principal, right"
"Yes, how could I forget. I hope that they can trace that bastard and punish him."
"I'm sure they will. I want revenge as much as you do, he will never hurt us again. He has hurt me too much in the past"
"You know Leo?"
"Yes, he was Victoria's boyfriend in high school and drugged both of us to drive us apart. When I wasn't friends with Victoria came the hardest part of my life and the fact that it wasn't even her fault now drives me to madness "
"Can I ask what happened during that period"
"Maybe another time"
A sorrowful expression overtook her dreamy face. She had been hurt before but she didn't want to show it.

We went to Mrs Daniel's office and I asked Grace to stay outside this time."Okay Alice, tell the police what happened."
So I started telling my story, with every detail, making sure they know exactly who Leo is and catch him. It was a long, tiring and emotional interrogation. At one point, remembering all the horrible things Leo had made me do, I almost started crying but I was holding myself together at least for now.
"Thank you so much for reporting your case Miss, we will get back to you as soon as possible"
I was so thankful and relieved that people didn't judge me for what had been done to me. I went out of the room and as soon as I saw Grace still standing there after almost three hours of me being in there, I felt my heart ignite a spark. Why was she still waiting for me?
"Hey. How did it go in there?" Grace asked so curiously
"It went perfect. Why did you wait for me?"
"What do you mean? I'm not going to leave you. I told you, I'm not leaving."
She was too good to be true.
"I have a surprise for you to lighten you up, come on." said Grace, taking my hand and leading me to the stairs.
"What are you doing?"
