Yellow by Coldplay

Having a few days together where they weren't tiptoeing around each other meant everything to George and Clay. Having a few days where they could kiss and hug and love whenever they wanted was incredibly special. George never knew how much of a touchy person Clay is, how he reaches out for Georges hand wherever they go, kisses his head when their doing something unrelated. Clay knows how to make George feel special. Shortly after the dinner with Clays family Clay asked George to officially be his boyfriend, then not even minutes after they called Sapnap and told him the good news. Sapnap was ecstatic, jumping up and down, proud of his friends and happy for them.

But George had to leave, after all he does have a life of his own in the UK, a family of his own. Goodbye was harder than they thought it would be, George knew how much he'd miss falling asleep in Clays comforting arms every night. How it would hurt to wake up alone, how they'd be hours apart again. Clay promised nothing would change, other than the fact that they can't be near each other, he would call and text everyday. And he did, he has. Clay even said he would make time to come visit George in the UK. It was sad being apart but George is satisfied with how everything went, grateful that  they were able to work things out. Proud of how much progress Clay has made in accepting himself. Feeling comfortable in himself finally

For the first time since Clay tweeted that video of his hand George streams on twitch. He feels bad for leaving their fans out of the loop, they were worried. All the fans got was a tweet from Sapnap, 'Dream and George are okay. They've just been really busy.' Both George and Clay regret not tweeting themselves during all this, their fans deserved to hear from them that they're okay. On stream a ton of donations come in saying they missed them, asking where they were.

"Dream and I decided to meet up in person and we didn't want you guys going crazy so we just kept it to ourselves." George answers to one of the first donations.

Clay nods, "Yeah. Sorry for not telling you guys."

They don't say anything about what really happened, why would they? With time maybe they will. But right now they revel in simply being in love with each other, okay with friends and other creators knowing. Living in their bubble together. Hushed 'I love you's whispered on the phone after streams. Describing what they will do together the next time they see each other, how much they've missed the other. They love being with each other, everyday astonished by how well they get along. How their spark never dies out.

George is glad he never fully gave up hope. All the nights he spent longing for his soulmate, longing for Clay, were worth it. He was never stupid or naïve. Pouring his heart out, cracking his chest open, nearly getting heartbroken, one hundred percent worth it. Clay was worth it. He'd do it all again.

Soulmates should never be something humanity lets go of. No matter how difficult it may be to find them, there still should be a way. Every time a person is met with their other half something in the universe wakes up, something softens. Two people are complete, their children are blessed with parents who will never not love each other. It's just the way humanity is designed, the way people are supposed to be. Leaning on each other, loving each other. Whatever's out there, whoever made everything the way it is, knew what they were doing. They intentionally made everything work in a way that encouraged humans to look outside of just what's immediately around them. Chances are, your soulmate isn't someone you went to high school with. But that's okay. If you know that then your heart opens up, you become a person whose looking around all the time. Willing to let anyone in, love anyone.

Even if Clay didn't initially want his soulmate to be male, he's not disappointed anymore. Sixteen year old him had no idea, he never would've been okay with twenty one year old Clay. But that's okay. People change. They grow and learn. Unhealthy thoughts and habits can be re written and un learned. Hearts can be opened and healed. Accepting yourself can be really challenging. Letting go of damaging thoughts about yourself can be one of the hardest things you'll ever do, it can take years of rewiring your brain. It's worth it though, Clay would attest to that. Being okay with himself, okay with being gay, has changed Clay's life as a whole. Clay cringes at the thought of never opening up and completely blowing things with George. All those days he was alone in his bedroom, curled up in the sheets letting out desperate sobs, he knew he needed to let himself go. Let himself choose love and happiness. Let himself choose George.

Choosing love, was the best choice both George and Clay ever made.

The End.
