Our Journey Begins

It had been a while since the events that had taken place with Rachel's mom,but a moment didn't go by when Chloe didn't think of it. "Earth to Chloe?" Rachel said waving her hand in front of Chloe's face. "Sorry I spaced out there for a second,but what were we doing?" Chloe said chuckling awkwardly. "We were going to get me some clothes from my house,and then we were going to your house," Rachel said smirking. "Fuck I forgot we are having dinner with my parents," Chloe said sighing as she begin to drive. "Ever since that day I got stabbed she just seems sad," Rachel thought to herself as she looked over at Chloe. "Hey you alright?" she asked tilting her head a bit. Chloe nodded "Yeah I'm fine just a little tired," she said as she kept driving. "Don't forget you're beautiful," Rachel said causing Chloe to smile. "Look who is talking," she said shaking her head a bit. "I'm the most beautiful friend you've ever had," Rachel said smirking. Suddenly memories of Max flashed back into Chloe's head. "You're perfect," she said as she tried to block the thought of Max. "Here we are Ms.Ambers," Chloe said as they parked outside of her house. "You coming in or not?" Rachel asked looking over at Chloe. "I'll wait here," she responded not wanting to deal with Rachel's dad. Rachel leaned over kissing Chloe's cheek "Love you," she said smiling,and then she exited the truck. "What is wrong with me?" Chloe asked herself as all she could think was sad thoughts. "I should be happy with how life is going," she thought to herself as she sighed. Inside Rachel had made her way into the living room,and she looked to see what Chloe would do. "She's been so depressed recently it makes me feel like I'm failing," she thought to herself as she walked away from the window. "Hey Rachel where's Chloe?" her mom asked shrugging. "Oh she's waiting outside," Rachel responded as she walked to her room,and begin to pack herself a small bag. "I wonder if Max takes this long to get ready," Chloe thought to herself smiling. "Mom I'm gonna spend the night at Chloe's," Rachel said as she walked out the door. Chloe looked at Rachel "Finally," she said smirking. "Oh please don't rush excellence," Rachel said as she got in the truck. Chloe shook her head smiling as she begin to drive off from his the house. "Chloe what's up with you recently? You just seem sad ever since I got out of the hospital," Rachel said looking over at her. Chloe sighed a bit "I'll tell you after dinner," she said shaking her head. "You know you can tell me anything right?" Rachel asked concerned about Chloe. Chloe just nodded as she continued to drive to her house. "Hey this isn't about that Max friend of yours is it?" Rachel asked causing Chloe to grit her teeth. "You know she's not my friend," Chloe said thinking about how Max never called or even sent a postcard. "Sorry for bringing her up," Rachel said as they now sat in silence. "Damn I hope she gets over this attitude soon," Rachel thought to herself as she sighed. Eventually they arrived at Chloe's house which made Chloe sigh. "Welcome to my hell," she said as she opened her door. "Let's just make the best of it," Rachel said as they got out of the truck. "Remember David don't start anything with Chloe," Joyce said as she opened the door to the two girls. "Rachel it's so nice to properly meet you," Joyce said as Rachel smiled. "It's nice too meet you as well," she said as they both walked in. "Chloe talks about you guys all the time," Rachel said trying to be nice. "I hope it's all good," Joyce said laughing a bit. "Yeah she wishes," Chloe thought to herself as she crossed her arms. "Dinner should be ready any moment now,so just make yourself at home," Joyce said smiling. Chloe shook her head "Come on Rachel," she said taking Rachel's hand. The two made their way upstairs. "Chloe's friend seems nice," David said as he walked over to Joyce. "You know David I think they may be more than friends," Joyce said shrugging. David's eyes widened a bit "Wait you don't mean you think Chloe is gay?" he asked. Joyce smirked a bit "I mean you've never seen her date a guy have ya?" she asked sarcastically. David shook his head a bit "Whatever you wanna believe," he said. "Your mom is nice Chloe," Rachel said as they entered her room. "Eh she has her moments,but I can't wait to see step-douche's reaction to finding out we are dating," Chloe said smirking knowing it would piss him off. "Oh yeah old school soldier man must be against people of the same sex dating," Rachel said laughing a bit. "Hey if he doesn't like it he can go fuck off," Chloe said kissing Rachel. Meanwhile downstairs Joyce had finished setting the table "Chloe! Come on down it's ready!" she yelled out. "Let's get this show on the road," Rachel said leading Chloe out the room and down the stairs. They all took their seats slowly. "It all looks amazing Ms.Price," Rachel said smiling. "Oh please honey call me Joyce," she responded smiling. They all served themselves and begin to eat. "Rachel I've heard you're quit the actress," Joyce said looking at her. "I don't like to brag,but I'd say I'm pretty good," she said chuckling a bit. "Whatever Rachel is the best actress I know," Chloe said smiling. "Chloe isn't that bad at acting either," Rachel said remembering the play. "I wish I could've seen that play," Joyce said looking over at Chloe. "Rachel what's it like being such good friends with Chloe? I only ask since she's not my biggest fan," David said looking at Chloe. "You know David it's a funny thing actually Rachel here is my girlfriend," Chloe said smirking. David sighed "You kids now a days with your beliefs," he said as he looked down. Joyce smiled at Chloe "I'll always love and support you Chloe," she said looking at Chloe and Rachel. "Thanks mom," Chloe said as she looked over at Rachel smiling. "Hey mom can we be excused?" Chloe asked looking over. "Oh yes you may," Joyce said surprised by her politeness. Both of the girls stood up and walked upstairs. "See that wasn't so bad," Rachel said sitting down on Chloe's bed. "I hate to admit you were right,but you were right," Chloe said laughing a bit. "Now tell me what's been going on with you," Rachel said crossing her arms. "It's nothing I'm just upset about stuff is all," Chloe said shrugging. "What stuff?" Rachel asked raising a eyebrow. "I made a promise to said person I wouldn't tell you," Chloe said looking out the window. "Was it my dad or something?" Rachel asked standing up. "Listen I don't know the full details about what it was going on,so it's not my place to tell you," Chloe said sitting down on her computer chair. Rachel sighed "Fine I'll just ask my parents tomorrow," she said shaking her head. "I'm sorry I can't tell you," Chloe said with a sigh. "Hey don't worry it's fine," Rachel said walking over to her. "Chloe I'll always love you no matter what happens," she said kissing Chloe's cheek. Chloe blushed a bit "I love you too," she said smiling.
