Jellal's POV:

After Erza left, Kagura laid down to take a nap in her wolf form. I went out to get some food for us since I hadn't gotten the chance to hunt yet. When I came back, I dropped the deer meat I found and woke up Kagura. She looked at the meat and thanked me, and helped me slice it in half with our claws. We began to eat, and Kagura finished before me. We talked for a while after eating. I suddenly heard a noise. I whispered for Kagura to hide in the deepest part of the cave and not to come out until I say, even if something happens to me. Whatever made that noise wasn't friendly.

When even I couldn't see her anymore, I growled at whatever was there. Around 15 men came out, and they had a certain scent on them that wasn't welcoming. They had HIS scent, accompanying their own. I growled, knowing what they came for. They came for me. I was glad I told Kagura to hide. She may have been a tough wolf, but she wouldn't stay tough for long if she was forced to face these people.

I looked at them more closely as saw that they were guards and knights of Magnolia. I saw the crest on their armor. Did Erza sell us out? Why is HIS scent on the guards? I growled at them as a warning not to get any closer. Stupid humans, they disobeyed. As they got closer I stepped back, trying to find an opening to attack.

Wait, I thought. What if Erza didn't tell anyone? These people are from her kingdom. The kingdom she helps rule. She would hate me if I killed any of them. No she wouldn't, its self defense isn't it? That doesn't give me the excuse of killing them, though. Maybe if I just knock them unconscious? It would still be considered hurting them though, but at least I wouldn't be killing them.

I decided to knock them unconscious for now, and get Kagura then find us another cave. I'd have to leave Erza a clue, but she's a smart girl so she'll figure it out.

I found an opening and leapt, using the closest guard as a springboard and jumped at the next one. They both slammed into each other and fell on the ground. Two down, about 13 more to go. I rammed into and knocked down about 10 more men. They just kept coming. It seemed they had reinforcements outside the cave. A lot of them too. I felt a foot to my side and I was blown into a wall hard. I got up and lunged for the guy that kicked me. Another guy did the same thing to my other side right before I tackled him. I was kicked against a different wall. I stood up, trying to find my balance before I was slammed into the ground by a head boot on my back. I whimpered as a reflex.

I saw a hand coming to close my mouth and bit it, feeling pride from the howls and cries of the guy I bit. That earned me a couple more kicks. I could hear the barely audible whimper of Kagura, probably horrified at the sight of my pain. I took notice that no one heard her, and felt relieved. At least she wouldn't feel the same treatment I was getting.

One of the men put a black collar around the dirtied fur on my neck and attached a leash. He pulled hard and I had no choice but to follow. We got outside the cave and the man pulled me into a steel cage on a cart. He wrapped the leash around one of the bars securely and then closed the gate to the cage. I laid down to sooth my aching back and sides. I knew I didn't have broken bones or torn muscles, or anything like that, but they were still sore.

I saw the rest of the men come out of the cave, and I assumed they tried to search it, but Kagura must have hidden well. Her fur most likely helped her hide because it was so dark. It was up to Kagura now to tell Erza what happened. Erza didn't tell anyone about me, I know it. Something else must have happened for the men to find me. This attack was definitely planned, because more than 30 men were outside the cave, and they were just reinforcements.

Did someone catch a glimpse of me while taking a walk through the forest? No, the king made a law that no one except himself, his advisor, and the chosen guard for the food gathering may enter the forest. Did someone-? Yes, that has to be it. I should have sensed it though. It was definitely him. It was Lyon. I should have sensed him, caught a whiff of his scent, or even heard his footsteps at least once. How did he do it undetected? He managed to conceal himself from two wolves and the general of the kingdom. He must have learned some new tricks.

The cart started moving and I recognized the route we were taking. We were going to the castle, and I now figured out what they had in store for me. I was going to be either executed or experimented on then killed. Hybrids are myths, so who wouldn't want to do some experiments on one if given the chance? I only know of 3 hybrid creatures in existence. And that was me, Kagura, and . . . Erza.
