3rd Person's POV
The guy faced the guests and gave them a gentle smile as he heaved a sigh and began to speak.
"Good evening to all. Uh, I can not promise you anything right now, I admit. Though, I
know this is not what you are expecting me to say. I understand your expectations for me and... hmm. Hindi ko mapapantayan si Papa, haha! However, I will do everything I can to defe---" the guy suddenly stopped as he glanced at someone. Someone named Nerissa Bluewaters. "to be the rightful one. Thank you." he then said.
The hall was filled with the people's applause. Trevor headed back to his seat as his father gave him a tight hug and a pat on the back.
Nerissa's POV
Habang nagsasalita si Trevor, nahalata ko na medyo kinakabahan siya. Akala ko pa naman hanggang sa stage dadalhin niya ang pagiging arogante niya.
But, there was something in me na parang sinasabing, we are alike. Siguro yun yung expectations. He is expected to be a responsible and a righteous Roman or CEO for their company (maybe). And I am expected to be the best... in all aspects.
It looks good how his father supports him. But I wonder, asaan kaya ang ina ni Trevor?
"Nerissa!" Nagulat ako dahil sa pagtawag sa akin ni Mitch.
"Kanina pa ako nagsasalita rito and it seems like you are dreaming, girl." she said with a hint of complaint in her voice, but in a cute way.
"Ha? Uhm. Nothing. I was just... wala" I said.
Minutes passed and the man in a black tuxedo started playing the piano. That was probably an indication for those people who wants to dance.
Then, I noticed that the lights dimmed and
the people stood up from their seats in pairs as they went to the center of the hall and started to dance.
I was the only one left here in this round table. Mitch was most probably accompanied by Xyrus. Those two would make a good pair.
Inilibot ko ang tingin sa paligid at sa hindi inaasahan, nagkasalubong ang tingin namin ni Trevor. Tumayo siya at napansin kong papalapit siya sa table namin.
Angel: Hashtag Pogi!
Devil: Hashtag Arogante!
Aish! Stop na nga conscience!
3rd Person's POV
Trevor was walking towards Nerissa's table when someone said so suddenly,
"Nerissa." Nerissa looked up to see who it was. Theo. "Can I dance with you, wondeful lady?"
Trevor stopped and stared at them.
"Hm, sige." replied Nerissa as she glanced swiftly towards the soon-to-be Roman and got up.
Disappointment and annoyance were etched on his face as he strode back to his seat.
Trevor's POV
Kahit kailan talaga sagabal 'yang Theodore na yan. That was the perfect timing to get to know Nerissa, but then he came. The hell!
"It's time." my dad said all of a sudden as he went near me. Tumango nalang ako at tumayo.
Umakyat na kami sa stage at tumigil na ang musika, sabay sa pagtigil ng mga tao sa pagsayaw.
My Mom, the Romanne, appeared at the center of the hall and I know this is the time for the... betrothal.
Natira na lamang ang mga babae at agad ko namang hinanap si Nerissa. Mukhang wala siyang kaalam-alam sa nangyayari. Tahimik na ang buong paligid at mabagal na lumapit ang ina ko kay... Nerissa. Isinuot niya kay Nerissa ang kanyang kwintas at halata ang gulat sa kanyang mukha. Does this mean...
"Siya! Siya ang magiging susunod na Romanne!" anunsyo ng aking ina.
I stood aghast after hearing those words. How can this even happen? I am here to take her heart and kill her for my mother to live and just right now she announces that Nerissa will be the next Romanne? The person I should marry.
Nerissa's POV
"Siya! Siya ang magiging susunod na Romanne!" said the woman who gave me a necklace with an eminent red stone pendant.
I did not know what to say, so I ran towards the enormous door and out of that mansion. Narinig ko ang boses ni Mitch sa pagtawag sa pangalan ko.
Tumakbo ako ng tumakbo hanggang sa hindi ko na alam kung saan na ako nadala ng mga paa ko. At sa pag lingon ko sa aking kanan isang maliwanag na ilaw ang aking nasilayan.
"Aaaahhh!"
