Something Unexpected

Chapter 1

''Come on Rachel, will be late!''

I look at my best friend Kate in the mirror and put my mascara back down on the table.

'' You do know we have an hour and a half to get there,right?''

''I know, I know I'm just so excited about VidCon"

I look at her as she jumps up and down messing up the bed I just made but I could see why she was so excited. As a birthday present my parents got me two tickets to fly to L.A and go to VidCom. I asked Kate if she wanted to come with me and of course she jumped at the opportunity to go and see Aaron Carpenter.

So here I am sitting in a hotel room watching my friend try find her sunglasseswhich are on her head but I'll wait and see how long it takes her to realizes, all while waiting for the taxi to show up and take us to VidCon.

''You know what would be amazing?'' I look over to Kate who is holding her bag in her hand.

''What?''

Kate walked across the room and picked up a bottle of water and threw at me, which I caught by the way and began to drink out of it.

''If we met like Nash or Cameron or even Hayes''

I chocked on my water at the last name Kate called out.

''Yeah right and I'll get an A in my Geography test''

''Don't knock it, it could happen''

I was about to answer her back when the phone on the bed side table started to ring. I got up and walked over to the phone and pick up.

''Hello?''

''Hello is this the Rachel O'Neill in room 243?''

''Emm... yes?''

''Good, well your taxi is down stairs''

''Oh, okay thank you''

I hung up the phone and started to get my things together. I look over to Kate who is probably on Facebook or reading.

''Kate come on, lets go''

She doesn't look up or even react to what I said. I grab one of the pillows off my bed and throw it at her. It hits her right in the head and she lets out scream.

''God Rachel are you trying to give my brain damage?!''

I look at her and cross my arms across my chest.

''I don't think you can get brain damage from a pillow''

''So, I could still have been hurt,why did you hit me?''

''Because the taxi is down stairs''

She gets up from the bed and grabs her bag so quick I didn't even see her stand next to the door waiting to go.

''I'm waiting Rachel come on''

''I'm coming relax''

We leave the hotel room and make our way to the elevator. When we get inside I push the button for the main floor and wait for the doors to close but just before they do Kate speaks up.

''Oh, my sunglasses have been on my head the entire time, haha''

I really don't know how she even ties her shoes her self.

When we get inside we both just look around in amazement. I couldn't believe I was in the same building as all these Youtubers.

I felt my arm being pulled and turn around to see Kate grabbing my arm and dragging me towards a flight of stairs.

''Kate slow down I'm going to fall''. I say as I get squashed between people going up the stairs.

''Then move your feet for your self''. With that she let my arm go and headed up the stairs.

I sighed and followed her up the stairs but I tripped and started to fall back.

This is it. I'm going to die I thought. I'm going to hit my head off the ground and die. I didn't want to die at VidCon that's like the worst death imaginable.

I closed my eyes and waited for my head to hit the ground but I felt two warm arms wrap around me instead.

I opened my eyes to see two big blue eyes looking straight into my eyes. Oh my god. It can't be, I must be dead and I'm in heaven.

''Hi, are you okay?''

This isn't possible.

''Can you hear me?''

I nodded in response and get back up.

Hi,I'm Rachel''.

HOLY CRAP THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING.

''Hi Rachel, I'm Hayes''
