SAVED BY THE DEVIL

Blood stains her delicate skin. Hot, wet tears drown the beauty of her face as her plump lips tremble in fear. Luciana hugs her trembling body as she walks barefoot down the woods. Leaves crunch under her steps, making her flinch as she looks back every second.

Soft whispers left her lips as she tried to ignore the flashes of memories from the incident that happened hours before. Luciana shook her head as memories of the mans touch crawled against her skin, making her shiver in disgust.

Luciana hadn't meant to kill him.

She never wanted to harm anyone, all she ever wanted was for her to be safe. Luciana had gone through enough pain to know there was only so much a person can take.

Luciana had enough.

She had enough of the pain he brought. With every touch against her skin, every bruise, every wound she had to clean. Luciana was sick and tired of his way of showing he loved her.

Broken sobs left her lips as she neared the edge of the cliff she was aiming to. Luciana knew her actions would have a consequence she wasn't willing to pay.

She would rather die.

Luciana's swollen feet drag her to the edge of the cliff, her grip on herself tighten as she could smell the ocean just below her. The coldness wrapper around her in a suffocating blanket, clogging her airways as she let out the pain within her.

"I deserve this. I'm sorry, oh I'm so sorry," Luciana whispered into the dark night.

Her gaze was locked on the bottom of the cliff where heavy rocks were constantly drowned by the strong waves of the ocean. She could feel her bones become jello as she thought of a way to jump without feeling scared.

Luciana just wanted to stop being in pain.

A dark chill spread down her bony spine making her shiver in fear. Luciana hadn't felt such darkness until the sound of leaves crunching behind her filled her ears.

Turning around, Luciana watched as a man dressed in black step out into the clear and give her a sad smile.

"Luciana, darling, what are you doing?".

Luciana felt her swollen face scrunch up in confusion as the handsome man stopped a couple of steps away from her. Her mind couldn't concentrate on how he knew her name when all she could think of was how inhumanly beautiful he was.

The way his pale skin seemed to glow made her tighten her thighs, a sickening feeling spread at the pit of her stomach. She wasn't sure if it was fear or lust she felt.

"How..who are you?", Luciana tighten her grip on herself as the man tilted his head to the side.

"Oh darling, I'm the devil," he gave her a dark chuckle, "but you may call me Thomas."

Luciana ignored the way her heart stopped at the mention of him being the devil. Instead, she focused back on what she was trying to do. Turning her head back to gaze down the cliff, tears poured down her cheeks as the wind blew between her hair.

"Lucy, I know what you did," the devil said, "I know what you did to that man."

Luciana felt her lips tremble as the pain came back. Her eyes gazed down to her hands, who were stained with the blood of the man she killed. Stained with her sin, "Then you know I must die."

Thomas felt himself frown as he stared at the beauty in front of him, "Oh Lucy, I have seen many die and believe me when I say you don't deserve to die."

Luciana let out a broken sob as she turned back to Thomas, "I killed him! I killed my father! How do I not deserve to die?".

The devil gave her a sad smile as he took a step forward, not to close to scare her. He didn't want her to jump off, not yet.

"Because that man was an asshole. He hurt you Lucy, in ways no angel like you should be harmed. He deserved to die, not you."

Thomas watched as Luciana broke down and fell to her knees. Pained cries left her delicate lips making him frown as he walked overt to her.

"You don't deserve to be in pain Lucy. I can help you," the devil watched as she raised her head to look at him, "I can make it stop. Do you want to make it stop?".

Luciana watched as the man who called himself the devil stretched his hand towards her.

"Take it Lucy, take my hand. Take my hand and let me take the pain."

Luciana stared at his hand, "Take my hand Lucy, come with me."

Her glossy eyes trailed his body until it reached his face. For a moment she could have sworn to have seen horns resting on his forehead. But with the blink of an eye it was all gone and was met with warm, chocolate eyes who smiled at her.

Without much thought, Luciana took his hand.
