A soft groan left the devil's lips as he awoke from his coma. His head was throbbing and his lips felt dry. Their was a coldness that wrapped around his skin making him shiver in bed. His hand felt heavy, making him look down to watch Lucy sleeping by his side. The grip she had on his hand was tight making him smile softly at the idea of her worrying for him.

He reached for her head with his other hand but winced at the pain that struck his heart. The Devil felt Lucy jerk awake and stare at him with wide worried eyes.

"It's okay," he whispered, "I'm okay."

Luciana felt her eyes tear up as she brought her hand to his face. A smile spread on her lips as she traced his cheek, "You're awake."

Thomas gave her a small smile as he enjoyed the feeling of her skin on his. He took a breath of her scent, inhaled it like it was the oxygen that kept him alive.

"I've been so worried about you. Rox said she wasn't sure when you would wake up," Luciana gave him a frown, "You looked so peaceful in your sleep that I began to think you didn't want to wake up."

The Devil gave Luciana a smile as he moved his head to kiss the palm of her hand. Luciana smiled widely before she pulled away to get up, "I have to tell Rox and Itzalli that you're awake."

"Wait," The Devil commanded making Lucy sit back down. She watched as he gave her a sadden look before he brought his hand down to her hers and linked their fingers.

"I heard you," Lucy gave him a confused look, "I could hear your voice and it was so clear. Your touch made me feel like I was on fire and I wanted to burn. You were always there but I couldn't find myself to wake up."

The Devil gave her a frown as he locked gazes with her, "Luciana, you are the one that I have been hoping to find for so long. You are the one that makes this horrible place better."

"Then why can't I stay?" Lucy questioned.

Thomas let out a breath, "You know I can't keep you."

"You can't or you won't?" Luciana said with an anger tone making the Devil squeezed her hand softly.

There was sadness in his eyes as he scanned her face, "Luciana, you must know, that if I had the power to keep you with me, I would do everything. You are the dream that I have been wishing for centuries. You are my light and my hope. You are my angel," Thomas gave her a smile before he let her hand go.

Luciana stood there watching him as realization kicked in of what he was about to do. She kept his gaze on him as Rox and Itzalli stepped into the room and rushed to his bed. They kept their eyes locked on each other as two lovers realized they couldn't be.

She took a step back as she allowed Rox and Itzalli to fix up their king. Lucy felt tears weld up in her eyes as the softness in his eyes were drowned by darkness. The soft king she was able to meet was now replaced by the Devil. Fear crawled up her skin as she watched him sat up on his bed, his shoulders seemed bigger making him look like a beast was growing within him.

The look of pure hatred in his eyes made Lucy shake as he stood up. Lucy stared at the Devil in all his glory and gasped as his human form disappeared and before her stood a red skin monster. His horns crowned his head, the blood colored skin made him look like your worst nightmare yet Lucy couldn't help but admire the beauty within the monster.

She felt fear, of course she did but at the same time there was a sense of safety when the Devil looked at her. Luciana kept her eyes on him as Rox helped him dress himself. Once he was in a full black suit, the Devil took a deep breath as he felt his strength come back to him.

"Itzalli make sure Luciana is brought to her room," The Devil commanded.

"Wait, you can't do this," Luciana began to argue, "You can't make me go. I don't want to go."

The Devil kept his gaze on Itzalli, fearing if he were to look at Luciana then he would fall for her pleading.

"You are too naive Lucy. I saved you because you didn't deserve what your father did to you. I apologize for keeping you here longer than I should have," The Devil turned his head to give her a quick glance, "Luciana Luz I forgive you for your sin."

Luciana felt a pinch at the bottom of her heart making her gasp for air. She watched as Itzalli walked over and catch her before she collapse. She felt like her lungs were on fire and breathing became difficult to do. Luciana tried to fight the sudden sensation of going to sleep.

She blinked away the drowsy feeling but it was stronger than her. Her eyes grew heavy and her vision became blurry but her hearing was still in use, allowing her to hear the Devil speak to Roxanne.

"Tell my father I'll be with him," Luciana felt his eyes on her before she fully collapsed.
