SAVED BY THE DEVIL

Lucy felt her head throbbing in pain as she opened her eyes. There was a heavy feeling on her chest as she woke up to an empty room. She sat up on the large, cold bed and gazed around the room. Lucy frowned as her eyes landed on the two suitcases by her door.

The frown remained on her lips as she slowly got up from her bed, and walked over to the closet. She opened the doors and realized all the dresses Thomas had gifted her were gone. Luciana was aware that this would be her last day here.

She would be gone by tonight and no longer be with him.

Her frowned deepened as she walked away from the closet and headed towards her bedroom door. She hesitated for a second, wondering where Rox and Itzalli where. Lucy had gotten used to them waking her up super early with their loud voices.

Luciana took a deep breath, giving herself courage as she opened the door and stepped outside of her room. She began to wander around the halls and Lucy began to get frustrated as she called out for them but no one answered.

"Where are they?" Luciana questioned herself as she turned the corner of the hallway that led towards the council room.

Her steps slowed down as distant voices began to get louder by each step. Luciana held her breath, trying to remain as quiet as possible as she reached a giant door that was slightly opened. She peeked inside and found Thomas sitting at the end of the table with Rox by his side.

There was a tired expression on his face as he rubbed the bridge of his nose. His shoulders dropped as he let out a sigh making Rox frown as she stared at her king.

"You don't have to see him, you know," Itzalli said as she approached them with a cup in her hand, "We can take care of it."

The Devil glanced up at Itzalli and gave her a small smile as he thanked her for the cup of tea, "I appreciate it the offer Itzalli but I have to do this."

"No you don't," Rox argued, "You're not alone Thomas and I feel like you're forgetting that."

"Rox." Itzalli glared at her.

"No," Rox raised her voice, "He has been avoiding that man for so long, why does he have to face him now? He did this to him, he made him suffer and all we're supposed to do is sit here and welcome him to our home?"

Thomas let out another sigh as he raised his hand and stopped their fight, "Enough, both of you."

Rox simply rolled her eyes.

"He is my father," The Devil frowned as he looked up to Rox, "I have avoided him for centuries but if it's what I have to do to keep her, then I must."

Luciana felt her heart tingle as she stared at Thomas. She wanted nothing more than to stay by his side and make him happy. Lucy was able to see a side to him that made her realize that everyone deserved to be loved. People are quick to judge others before getting to know who they are.

She knew he was the devil but there was still a part of her that knew, even the devil deserved to be loved.

Luciana jumped as she heard footsteps down the hall. Her heart began to beat fast as she hid behind a pillar and closed her eyes, hoping that they wouldn't see her.

When she heard silence, she opened her eyes and went back to peeking into the room. She recognized two of the men, they were Thomas's brothers. She hadn't met them yet but from the last visit she got the information out of Itzalli. Sam and Harry were his younger brothers, two angels who were the right hand of god.

The third man she couldn't see his face yet, she could only see his back and the weird white glow around him. Luciana felt her skin cover in chills as the man spoke.

"Thomas, my child, you've grown so much."

The devil clenched his jaw as he stared at his father with nothing but hurt in his eyes. He simply gave him a nod, acknowledging his presence.

"It seems like we could do this as a family, no need for your demons to be here," Sam said with a smirk as he watched Rox for her reaction.

Sam was caught of guard as Itzalli took a step forward and exposed her wings, she stood in front of Thomas, her stance ready to protect her king.

"Watch your language, your father may be here but you're in our home," Itzalli hissed making Sam take a step back.

"Enough, both of you," The Devil said as he stood up from his seat. Everyone watched his moves as he walked over to stand in front of his father. He gazed around his fathers face, noticing he has aged since the last time he saw him. A frown spread on his lips as he spoke, "She's safe with me, no harm will come to her as king as long as she is by my side."

God sighed as he stared at his oldest son. He was amazed at the man he had become, he knew he had done right the moment he made his son the king of hell. His anger and fury within him was perfect for a place like this. The devil was meant to create pain and a place to torture humans for the wrongs, how could he possibly be able to love one?

Thomas frowned at his father as a chuckle left his lips, "Oh Thomas, can't you see my son? She will only die if she stays with you."

"She won't, I will protect her with my life," Thomas argued.

"Please Thomas, I have told you, you aren't capable of being loved," God's words stabbed right through Thomas's heart. His pain was visible as a he took a step back and glared at his father, "I can be loved, mother loves me."

"Because she is your mother!" God yelled, making the room slightly shake, "You are a creature of destruction, I created you to be the devil, the man who ruled the underworld. Look how weak you've become over a simple human."

Thomas glared at his father, he felt his anger rise as he watched his father walk towards him, "You, Thomas, cannot keep her here. You are being selfish and greedy. She is a simple, innocent soul. Do not infect her with your darkness. It wouldn't be fair."

God sighed as he watched his son stare at him with sadness in his eyes, "It's for your own good Thomas. She will go home and be with the humans as it should be. It's my final word."

Thomas's eyes changed within a second, the hurt boy was hidden by the devils darkness. His eyes shifted to a blood red color, the energy in the room shifted as the devil glanced up to his father, "Your rules do not apply here. She will stay, and that's final."

God didn't want Thomas to start a fight with him, he knew it would pain him more than anything to watch his sons fight. He sighed deeply before he confessed, "Luciana isn't meant to be yours Thomas. She isn't meant to be here, she isn't your destiny. Your obsession with her will only cause your end."

Thomas felt a shift change as he realized what his father meant. He felt his heart crumbled as he let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. The devil took a step back and cleared his throat, he gave the door a quick glance, meeting his eyes with the girl that had changed his world.

He looked back to his father and gave him a nod, "She'll go back home."
