SAVED BY THE DEVIL

Luciana felt her mind fog up as her feet dragged her around the dark hallway. She could feel her fears whispering next to her ear, making her shiver and wrap her arms safely around herself.

The kingdom, hell, whatever this place was called made Luciana fear for all the wrong things she had done. From ignoring the pleading homeless man to killing her father, she was aware the place she was in was a place to judge her sins.

Sins.

Sins that brought her nothing but nightmares.

"Oh Lucy..."

That same voice whispered against her ear, making her glance around until her eyes spotted the door she was forbidden from.

"Come on Lucy, open it. Open it and come to me..."

Her feet slowly dragged her to the door. Luciana's hand twitch as she spotted the doorknob, wanting to open it and see what was on the other side.

"Luciana!", her fathers booming voice made her turn around.

The man who had haunted her all her life stood before her, his deathly eyes staring down at her.

"Luciana, so weak. Look at you, just like your bitch of a mother."

Luciana didn't take another moment to stare at the man she had killed before she allowed her fight or flight instincts to kick in and turned around to run. Without giving her father another glance, Luciana kept on running until she bumped into a hard chest.

"Lucy?", she glanced up to meet a man with dark red skin and horns resting on their head.

"Are you scared, darling?".

Luciana gasped as she sat up on her bed. Her chest moved up and down as her hard breathing filled the empty silence of her bedroom. She could feel sweat rolling down the sides of her face, strands of hair stuck against her neck made her realize it was a nightmare.

Taking a deep breath as ran a hand through her hair and glanced around her room. Memories of her nightmare came to mind and the image of Thomas as the devil made her shiver in fear.

The soft tapping against her door made her stiffen as she clutched onto her bedsheets. As the tapping continued, Lucy took a breath of courage and slowly removed herself from her bed.

Walking to her door, she waited for another set of tapping before she opened her door and was greeted with the devil.

"Lucy, are you alright?" The devil questioned making Luciana take a deep breath as images of devil horns and red skin flashed through her mind.

Luciana gave him a slow nod, "Yes...I'm alright, I apologize if I was loud. I believe I was having a nightmare."

"I could tell, why I came to make sure you were alright", the devil offered her a small smile but slipped off his lips as her face morphed into one of confusion.

"How did you know I was awake?"

Thomas chuckled softly as he leaned against the doorframe, "Oh Lucy, you are the only one hear with a heartbeat, I could hear it beating frantically across the kingdom."
