Inhale.

Exhale.

A young 19 year old woman opened her eyes and was temporarily blinded by the sunlight filtering through the windshield of her car. She took her hands off of the warm steering wheel from the seemingly endless hours of driving she had endured. She looked to the side and grabbed the keys out of her dash before turning off her car and opening its door. The girl stepped out and let the neutral air touch the skin of her bare arms.

It was Mid-August and the girl knew the heat would rapidly decline as fall faded into a chilly winter. The girl brushed some stray hairs out of her face and locked her slightly beat up car. It was recommended that the students attending Ashpine University to arrive a month before the classes actually started.

She crosses the parking lot to reach the main entrance of the college. She pushed open the glass doors and walked over to the help desk. Today must have been a popular arrival day because the lines were on the longer side.  She walked to the seemingly shortest line.

You stood behind an intimidating man. He was wearing a black t-shirt that clung to his skin. He was muscular. you bit your bottom lip as you observed him. 'He could crush me like a fly-'. He was tall too, easily standing a solid 5 inches taller than you. Something about the brunette man gave you an uneasy feeling. He gave of an intimidating aura. Or was it a dangerous one? Probably a deadly combo of both. Along with his black shirt he was also wearing blue jeans and some sort of white converse.

"-incess? Oi! Princess!" You came back to your senses. You blinked a couple times, you must have zoned out. You looked upwards to be met with baby blue eyes. They seemed innocent but there was something hiding behind it that you couldn't quite put your finger on.

The man chuckled. "You were staring for quite awhile princess, see something you like?" The man spoke in deep and smooth voice. You shook your head and apologized. You looked around, updating your memory on what was around the room.

"Oh, its your turn princess-" You looked over at the man again but this time he wasn't looking at you, he was looking at the desk in a gesture for you to go ahead. Slowly you walked up to the desk, you could feel his gaze burning holes into your back.

"Woods, Jeffery." A middle age woman called out for the person so they could claim their keys. You looked around to see who was going to claim the keys. The man who took you out of your daze pulled his hands out of his jean pockets and walked to claim his keys, but not before he sent you a quick wink.

You rolled your eyes at his action. 'College douche-' You knew you were going to encounter one eventually but god, why did it have to be the first person who spoke to you on campus. You stepped out of line after giving the attendent your name so they could go get your keys.

"Bye Princess!" You looked behind you to see the blue eyed boy waving to you. You flipped him off. Jeffery, as you were told his name was left. hopefully now you could get some peace. Just as you took a deep breath your phone vibrated in your pocket. You groaned in frustration as you pulled it out to see who had texted you. It was Jenny. Jennifer Johnson was your best friend, you had known her since freshman year of highschool.

You unlocked your phone and opened your chat with her. You read her text. She simply told you that she would be calling you. Jenny always texted you before calling you. You didn't know why put you paid no mind to it.

As if on cue your phone started vibrating and a notification popped up. You quickly hit the 'Accept' button and raised your phone to your ear. "Hey!" the cheerful and familiar voice of Jenny hit your ear drums. The sound of a familiar voice made you smile. "hey!" You responded back to her just as your name was called to collect your keys. "Where are you? I see your car but your nowhere in sight." Jenny questioned as you walked to collect your keys. "I'm inside the main building, I needed to collect my keys." You fumbled with the keys a little looking for the room number that should've been attached to the them.

"Oh, yeah that makes sense-" You chuckled at your friends words. "Ill be outside in a minute, I'll talk to you there." "Sounds good!" And with her quick reply you hung up the phone and walked out of the semi-crowded building.

The semi-warm air hid you like a brick when you walked outside. You quickly glanced around and spotted your friend waving at you in an over the top obnoxious manner. You smiled and shook your head playfully. Jenny was a medium height girl, standing a few inches below you at about 5'2. She had naturally tan skin, forest green eyes and dark bownish-aburn hair. She was sporting a grey and white striped shirt and a light blue jean jacket over it.

You jogged over to her before giving her a quick hug. "How was the drive?" You asked her. "It was so boring" Jenny whined as you chuckled. "yours?" "It was fine, the only thing around the city here is a forest." Jenny nodded in agreement. "Anything interesting happen to you yet?" Jenny looked at you with pure curiosity. She spoke in a slightly teasing tone. "kinda?" You debated whether or not to tell your bubbly friend about your encounter with the brunette man.

Jenny latched onto you and begged you to tell her what happened. You sighed and decided to tell her. "Okay so I went inside, and walked to the shortest line because I didn't really wanna wait." Jenny nodded eagerly. "And in front of me was this tall dude, like really tall." A teasing glint shimmered in Jenny's eyes. "What did he look like? Was he hot? Did he talk to you?" Jenny bombarded you with questions. "He had brown hair and blue eyes." "Did he talk to you?" Jenny asked you again. You nodded. "I zoned out when we were in line, he tried to get my attention to tell me that it was my turn."

Jenny nodded analyzing the situation. "What was his name?" "Hm? oh- I think it was Jeffery Woods or something." You looked down at your slightly shorter friend. "Do you have a picture-?" "What? No, why would i have a picture of him?" Jenny shrugged. "I just wanna know if he's cute-" You rolled your eyes playfully at her antics.

Jenny gasped suddenly. "Whats your room number!?" She asked excitedly. "Oh- uh." You glanced down at your keys. "Room 303-" "No!" Jenny whined holding the 'o' for an extended period of time. "I'm in room 145" she pouted. "Jenny, you sound like a toddler who didn't get the toy they wanted." Jenny gasped. "Im wounded Y/N, your so mean!" She had a smile on her face as you let out a small chuckle.

Jenny grabbed your hand and led you to the dormitory hall. You had requested for a room with Jenny, she's the whole reason your even at this college. You, however did not get your request and got a solo room. It was slightly smaller than average but there was still plenty of room. Ashpine University was a luxury college after all. Jenny shook you to get your attention. "We should go find that guy!" You didn't want to, your mind was telling you he was bad news. You agreed anyways and she dragged you around on the lookout for the male you described to her.
