THE NEXT DAY AFTER class, harlow sat next to cedric quietly on his bed. they were watching a movie that cedric had put on. harlow didn't know what movie it was, she hadn't been paying attention and she had barely spoken a few sentences to cedric. she stared off into space, utterly lost in thought.
"lo?" cedric said. "harlow." he shook her by the arm.
harlow jumped up, "sorry, what were you saying?"
"are you okay?" he asked, "you've barely said two sentences to me the entire time you were here."
"yeah, i'm fine." she replied, giving him a fake reassuring smile.
"no your not." he looked at her with worry in his eyes, "i know you better than you think, i know when somethings wrong."
"i just feel like everyone's leaving me." she told him.
"what happened?" he asked.
harlow looked down, "harry told me," she sighed and looked back up at him. "he thinks i'm a bad person, and-" her voice cracked and a single tear dropped down her face. "i don't think he loves me anymore."
she quickly whipped the tear off her face and threw her head back fanning her eyes in an effort to stop herself from crying even more. she stopped fanning her eyes and looked back down.
"look at me," he said, she looked at him. "you have done nothing to deserve all this crap, you are not a bad person, okay?"
she nodded, whipping another tear from her eye and giving him a smile, her glossy eyes lighting up slightly as they always did when she smiled.
she put her head on his shoulder, "thank you."
"for what?" he asked.
"for always being there for me and for being my best friend." she smiled.
he wrapped his arms around her, "don't get all cheesey on me now love."
harlow laughed, "don't worry, i won't."
"and lo?" he said.
"yeah?"
"i'm not leaving you, not now, not ever." he moved his arms from around harlow and held out his pinky to her. "i promise." she locked his pinky in his.

harlow, pansy, and daphne walked together, slowly towards the great hall.
"you seriously expect us to believe that you and cedric were just sitting on his bed, watching a movie, and you did nothing?" said pansy.
"wait you were in his bed?" daphne asked, "harls that's literally the fastest way to each chlamydia, gonorrhea, or worse-"
harlow laughed, cutting daphne off, "don't worry i'll go visit madam pomfrey and ask her if she can give me an all inclusive std screening."
"girl i'm not joking." daphne replied, "dude has more bodies then you have detentions."
