He stared deeply at his mother. Her back faced him as she wrote swiftly on the blackboard. The sound of the chalk slamming against the board reverberated within the whole room. His mouth breathed heavily as she turned around to look at him. They stared each other down like hawks.

Her eyes shook with embers of a stolen fire and his withered away with the resemblance of burning ash. her heels clicked as she made her way towards him. Katsuki held his head low as she stood in front of her son.

He saw her maroon heels. She always had great taste in fashion.

His eyes blinked once as he looked up just a bit to see her

face

a straight face she held.

She was too complex to read

Her eyes were beady

and her mouth was as straight as an artist's pencil stroke.

She was a moving picture

an erratic sense of guilt

for him

for his whole world.

The room felt cold

just like her touch. Just like right now

as she caressed his palm.

But then she jerked him forward

his heart skipped a beat

terrified to meet

her eyes.

Mitsuki slowly leaned into his ear. He shuddered at the hotness of her breath as she said

"You will never be better than him"

Katsuki's eyes widened as ache spread across his heart. He felt as if his own mother set him on fire and expected him to dance in water.

Where there was no water to be found.

Mitsuki leaned back to look at her son. Tears welled up in his eyes

but he kept them in

just like the memory

of that hot day

looking from the inside.

Izuku and he didn't hate each other

didn't love each other

they just shared the same somber memories.

For he was a witness to her

wrenching and oozing

treason against their childhood.
