Chapter 5. First Mission (cont.)
Belladonna pivoted her body to the right as she heard the sound again but only saw a forest mouse sitting on top of a small pile of leaves leaves.

Bella let out a quiet breath or relief and continued to walk through the forest to make sure that the sound actually did come from the mouse and not something else.

"Damn, scared the crap out of me..."

After her round through the woods and casting spells on trees she went back to the village and leaned against the same house as before, the one that faced the border in the woods. She stayed there till dawn, and when the sun rays hit her hiding spot she released the smoke cloaking spell she casted on herself.

Letting out a silent yawn, she dragged her feet on the ground and went back to her little shack and fell back asleep on the cot.

After her third day of staying in the village the Paula had offered her a shower and some fresh clothes while they washed the ones she had been wearing. Of course she accepted. Paula had guided her to her home and allowed her to bathe, she also had given her a clean dress and fresh garments and took her old ones.

After cleaning herself thouroughly Bella stood and stepped out of the tub and wrapped herself in a towel, she grabbed the clothes that were set out for her on a stool and quickly got dressed. The garments were close to her size, but the bra she was given was two sizes too small so she discarded it and continued to get dressed. Paula had given her a simple white dress and a black leather underbust corset that laces in the front. The skirt of the dress was flowy and stopped around the middle of her calf, and she wore the boots she came in.

Bella towel dried her hair the best she could before stepping out the restroom and threw the towel in the basket Paula told her to earlier. The heels of her boots clicked softly against the stone floor as she made her way out of Paula's home.

"Where'd she go?" She sighed as she search for the woman to thank her.

"Christ. I'll tell her later, I've got work to do."

Bella made a quick stop at her shack to pick her bag and went on her way into the forest to walk around and check the border for any suspicious activity. She took careful and light steps to avoid making any noise incase there was someone in the woods. As she made her way to the border Bella touched and casted spells on the trees.

She gritted her teeth in anger, "It's been days and there still hasn't been any advancements on the village. What are they waiting for?" Bella stared through the trees, and watched passed the border, it was a little difficult since the forest was still dense on the other side but she made sure to focus her eyes on the slightest bit of movement.

Belladonna's body went rigid, she heard something in the forest. But it was on her side of the border.

"Someone snapped a twig. That was definitely human. How.. did they get past my magic without me knowing? But my spell is still up?" Thoughts of what to do ran through her head, as she thought of what to do.

Bella slid her grimoire out of her bag and had it hover in front of her, the book opened on the page listing steel magic spells, she made a split second decision to dash towards the noise while quietly activating the spell.

"Steel Magic, the sword of god." Her steel sword materialized into her hands as she moved to the organ of the sound at inhuman like speed, Bella was close enough to make out a figure standing there trying to find where she was coming from. She changed her route to sneak up on the intruder from the other side, and in an instant she was there pointed her sword at the person who dared to spy on her.
