20 Years Later...

"Will, sweetie, can you go pick Shelly up from school? It's her first day!" Ashley asked from downstairs. "I'll be quick, typing up work documents!" I said, speedingly clattering on my laptop, and turning it off with a satisfied look on my face. I took my jacket off the coat rack and wore it. It was a while since "Thunderclap" has been out on the streets. I had taken in a job, and was working from home. I was now working behind a desk, on a laptop. As I exited the house we lived in, I walked to our local school, where I used to go 20 years ago. Memories flooded my mind, as I soon realized I wasn't alone. A blue and black figure was walking beside me, wielding an aura of electricity similar to me. "Bolt?" I asked. The figure turned his head, greeting me with the familiar face of the bot I fought alongside in the XK Class scenario 20 years ago. We hugged each other, as we walked over to the school. "Daddy!" Shelly shouted as she rushed over to hug me. "How was your day, princess?" I asked. "It was fun! I got an A+ on the math test and the teacher gave me some candy!" I smiled. "Who's that other man? Why is he blue and black?" Shelly asked curiously. "Oh, that's a friend of Daddy's. We went to the school you go to together!" I smiled, as the days of our adventures replayed in my mind. Bolt suggested, "How about we meet up sometime?" I replied, "We can tonight if you want," We invited all our close friends that were there in the XK Class scenario, and had a night of memories, and our happiness once again, united. With the nine of us reunited, life seemed like a dream frozen in time. "So... How's life?" Dan asked. "Fine, how about you?" I replied. "Oh, stuff happens, otherwise I'm good." Chlorophyll was tending to the house plant as it rapidly grew and sprouted roses of all colors. "You can do that?" Ashley asked. "This is one of my powers." He answered. "Speaking of powers, who wants to have a test run?" We heard a voice with no mouth. "Just kidding, don't be creeped out!" Spectre responded with a sheepish smile. Almost on cue, Spectre stood up from his seat, and with his sword in hand, opened the door of an interdimensional portal to a plane of tranquility and existence, a pocket dimension. I dashed around the seemingly infinite boundaries as a blue trail sped behind me. We saw tremors and flames, icicles and purple energy eyes, yellow lasers and vines. It was fun to run this back like 20 years ago. "I have to leave, gotta go! Keep in touch!" Dan said, as the portal door reopened. I waved goodbye, with a tear of joy in my eye. One by one, we left for our own plans until it was time for us to leave. "Bye, Shatter." I said, as the door closed behind us. I felt my phone buzz as I looked at the notification: "You have been invited to join a group: The Cosmic Fireguards, participants; You, Dan, Ashley, 6 other unknown users" Now, there were nine Cosmic Fireguards. I went to sleep, waking up in the nostalgic Flame Temple as I searched for a tenth Cosmic Fireguard...

Again, the boy stood up from his chair, smiling at the piece of work this story had become, from something that came out from a dream to a full-fledged story. 'This was a nice story,' he thought. He had even considered writing a part three, but that's another story, for another time. And so it ends here.
