As a kid, you've been taught the most basic form of communication between two People and that would be to say hello. it was the most common form of decency and respect

The way i was raised, i would greet, and immediately after that, id ask "how are you?"

"So... how are you ladies?" i asked as i rested my head in my hands.

To me, that just makes the other person feel at ease and they then find it easier to interact with me, instead of leaving us awkward having said just the "hello." Some people would even spark up a conversation While others leave it at that.

"we are more than fine honey. how are you doing? its only been a month since... you know" margaret and heather looked at me worriedly.

I just smiled at looked.down at the black tea in front of me.

"i'm doing better... i'm taking it day by day." margaret took my hand and squeezed it slightly.

"you're so strong, taehyung. i don't know what my son would have done if he was in such a position with me" heather said.

"probably switch off the machine to get your benefits" margaret joked.

"hey!" heather pouted and i laughed a bit.

We continued chatting about this and that when i noticed the absence of a certain senior that i missed seeing.

they think that having a conversation with me would be pointless and walk away but im fine with that.

It just means that they don't match the energy i radiate, which is fine! id just continue to smile and repeat my process of greeting every time i see them again.

"margaret? heather?" they stopped their conversation and looked at me attentively.

"yes baby?" Heather asked.

"wheres mrs jeon? i haven't seen her in a while." i asked, still looking around the place.

They both lowered their heads  and started to fidget around with their tea cups. a habit i've picked up when they were worried or anxious about something.

"what? is something wrong with mrs jeon?" i asked, becoming worried. "what are you guys not telling me?

"no baby, its not something you should be worrying yourself about. you have enough stress on your hands." Heather said, rubbing my back comfortingly.

"how could i not worry? this is mrs jeon were talking about. you guys telling me not to worry is making me worry ten times more than i already am!" i stressed.

"alright baby, calm down" margeret hushed. " we dont even know if there is something wrong for sure."

"please explain?" i asked, taking a sip of my tea.

"well you see...  recently, margaret has become more... how do you say?"

"depressed?" i suggested.

" i was gonna say distant but okay, that works too" heather laughed. okay i was glad that i wasn't the only person to notice it.

"so im not the only person who sees it?" i asked worriedly.
