The secret behind Bokutos hair and why it has that outgrown look, is his sister.
... or sisters.
As we know, Bokuto is the baby of the family, which means, that he is the youngest.
At a young age the oldest of bokutos sisters died her hair greyish white and lil bokuto thought his sister was so cool so he asked his mom if he could dye his hair too. (His mom said no because she thought he was too young)
Eventually his sisters overheard the conversation and went out to buy hair color that lasts one day and hairgel. (That type of color that goes away after one shower)
So when their parents went to bed, the two girls snuck into the room of their little brother and woke him up.
When Bokuto saw what they had in their hands he almost screamed because he was so happy.
On that night the two girls "died" the hair of their little brother, took a lot of photos with him and had a very funny night.
Bokuto loves his sisters very much.
So when he entered middle school, he decided to style his hair until he had his iconic hairstyle we all love.
And in his second year of high school, he lost a bet and had to dye one strand of his hair, to which he responded "Why only one ?".
On that day, he called his sisters and the two almost passed out when they saw their little brothers hair.
The next day they came home and died his hair again so it would look good.
Ever since, Bokuto dyes his hair from time to time and remembers the night his iconic hair was born.
