Sugawara has a petsnake named "Hinote".
(He didn't know what to call her so he chose "Hinote", which means "Fire" in japanese, because the snake looks a bit like fire in his opinion)
He saw her (yes, it's a female snake) when he was in his first year of middle school.
Suga immediatly fell in love.
He told his parents about the snake he saw and begged them to get him this one.
At first they were a bit shocked and and offered to get a cat, dog or bunny but Suga wanted that snake more than anything else.
So the next day, they drove to the petshop, bought the snake and everything he would need for her und got back home.
Now, where Suga is an adult, he keeps Hinote near him, when he's home.
He loves his snake and she loves him.
When Daichi last visited him, he giggled about Suga and how he talked with her like a little baby.
