"...Izuku?"

All of Izuku's disorientation seems to vanish at that sound. He knows that voice, or at least he... knew that voice. A long time ago, before setting himself up on Dagobah's littered shores. He hesitantly turns around, hoping to God above it isn't some sort of hallucination. Then his eyes catch her. A plump woman with hair as green as his, but more neat and tied in a ponytail. A woman who Izuku had the pleasure of knowing her smile for the past 14 years. "Mom?" he gasps, his voice nearly cracking under the threat of losing composure. He doesn't know how or why she's here, but she is. Inko Midoriya is standing right before him, her arms open wide.

Izuku doesn't need any more motivation to run straight into her arms.

Inko eagerly wraps around Izuku's torso as he crashes into her. She tightens her embrace... she missed her baby boy. Her eyes are watery with tears, but Izuku is practically crying a river. "M-mom..." he sobs, overcome with emotion, happiness and relief being the most prominent. "Yes, baby," she whispers, rubbing her son's back, "I'm here, Izuku. I'm here." Izuku continues to cry, burying his face into his mother's shoulder. He missed this. He missed her . A wave of memories come flooding back, sweeping Izuku off his feet. He doesn't fight it.

He's just glad he with his mom again.

Once he's calmed down enough, Izuku pulls away, trying to anchor himself back to reason. His mom is still in front of them, so it's either a really elaborate hallucination, or it's really happening. Then again, it could also be the sideeffectsfromhisfightagainstAllforOnebutwhatifitisn'tafterallquirkswereoncethoughttobesciencefictionsoseeingyourmomsuddenlyaliveandwelloutofthebluewasn'tentirelyoutofquestionandwaitasecondishe- "Izuku!"

Izuku's mouth has never shut up so fast; he was mumbling... again.

Inko merely giggles at his antics. Even after all this time, her baby hadn't changed all that much. He had come so far all the same... It's at this point that Izuku's awareness has finally kicked in. "M-mom!" he sputters again, "What are you doing here?" Inko gave her son a soft smile, cupping his cheek with her hand. "I should be asking you that, sweetie," Inko replied, causing Izuku to do a double take. He quickly took in his surroundings...

...since when did the hospital room become a grassy valley under the bright blue sky?

"Relax, honey," Inko assured him, "You're still in the hospital room. Physically, at least." Physically ? But... did that mea-? "Waiwaiwaitaminute..." Izuku interrupted, trying to wrap his head around what he just heard. "Am I-?" he pointed to himself, before pointing to his mom, "Are you still-?" Inko's smile became more softer, as she sadly shook her head. "My time has come and gone, Izuku," she told her son, "I may be dead, but you... you're only close to death."
"You still have a long life ahead of you, honey."

Izuku felt his arms limply drop to his sides, his brain officially reaching levels of critical overload. Inko merely took her son into another hug, moving her delicate hand through his hair. "Listen to me Izuku," she whispered softly, "This is only a resting spot. You still have a long way to go back in the land of the living. But I just want you to know... I believe in you. It may have taken me too long to realize that, but I hope you'll accept it all the same. You were always an incredible child... now you can show it to the world." Inko places her hands firmly on Izuku's shoulders, facing Izuku with a proud smile. " Go and be a hero, honey. "

And with that, Izuku's world goes white.

...he feels like someone's kissing him when he regains consciousness.

After he starts to stir, the feeling dissipates. He feels... fuzzy. Like he's been drained to hell and back of all his energy, but for some reason what's left of his adrenaline is trying to revive him. He quickly scans the room, noticing the seemingly empty hospital room, save for the equipment and the ever observant Recovery Girl. He doesn't miss the way she sighs in relief after seeing that he's awake. "Thank goodness..." she mutters, walking up to her patient, "You gave us a scare after your body decided to violently check out. How are you feeling?"
