That's not my middle name, Giddy.

"You mean he hasn't told you?" He scoffed.

"Fuck off, Malfoy."

I stomped to the Gryffindor table, Roxy trailing after me.

"Twins!" Fred and George turned to look at me. "Have you seen my brother?"

"He left with McGonagall. Him and Hermione."

"Did you guys sit with him? Did he actually faint?"

"No, we weren't with him. Haven't even spoken to him yet. Ron was there though."

I turned to see Ron sitting by himself, two empty spots on either side of him, looking a little miserable.

"Ron?" I sat down across from him. Roxy sat on my right, Fred to my left.

He looked up in response.

"What happened to Harry?"

He looked a bit off at first, then told me what had happened. A dementor had entered their compartment as well, and the same thing that had happened to me, happened to Harry.

By the time he finished explaining how Lupin was in the compartment and saved him, Harry, Hermione, and McGonagall entered the Great Hall and the Sorting Ceremony was over.

The professor stopped by where I was sitting.

"I must see you afterwards, Miss. Potter."

Then she walked to the staff table and took her respective seat.

Harry and Hermione sat down on either side of Ron, and they whispered amongst themselves. I turned my attention towards the headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, who had begun his annual "Welcome to Hogwarts" speech.

"Welcome!" He began. "Welcome to another year at Hogwarts! I have a few things to say to you all, and as one of them is very serious, I think our best to get it out of the way before you become befuddled by our excellent feast." He cleared his throat, "As you will all be aware after their search of the Hogwarts Express, our school is presently playing host to some dementors of Azkaban, who are here on Ministry of Magic business. They are stationed at every entrance to the grounds, and while they are with us, I must make it plain that nobody is to leave school without permission. Dementors are not to be fooled by tricks or discusses - or even Invisibility Cloaks." At that Harry and Ron looked at each other, causing me to furrow my eyebrows. "It is not in the nature of a dementor to understand pleading or excuses. I therefore warn every one of you to give them no reason to harm you. I look to the prefects, and our new Head Boy and Girl-" I turned to see Percy puff out his chest- "to make sure that no student runs afoul of the dementors.

"On a happier note, I am pleased to Welcome two new teachers to our ranks this year. First, Professor Lupin, who had kindly consented to fill the past of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher."

Amongst us students, there was a scattered applause. Only a few from the Gryffindor table had clapped loudly.

He looks out of place. And slightly uncomfortable up there.

I looked at my twin, hoping to catch his eye, and saw Ron speaking to him in a hushed manner.

"As to our second new appointment," Dumbledore continued, "I am sorry to tell you but Professor Kettleburn, our Care of Magical Creatures teacher, retired at the end of last year to spend time with the last of his remaining limbs. However, I am delighted to say that his space is to be filled by our very own Rubeus Hagrid!"

So that's why he sent the monster book. That makes so much sense now!

"We should've known!" I turned to look at Ron, who was pounding the table. "Who else would have assigned us a biting book?"
