Sarah gritted her teeth as she glared at the ceiling of her now imaginary interrogative cell, damn, she didn't know who it was but they knew which buttons to push. She was starting to feel like it would be better to just escape. She had the means to. She just didn't want to live her whole life on the run.

"I wonder," she trailed off. No smile was visible, she was wearing her emotionless face, having given up on the whole act of being a kind teacher. To begin with, she didn't like acting, too mentally taxing.

"Do you believe it is right for people with superpowers to be supervised?"

Natasha stared at Sarah, observing how her heel started tapping against the floor, annoyance, anger, anxiety, maybe, she couldn't decipher the emotion on her face, it was too controlled, nearing a blank canvas.

"No," Sarah finally answered. She was firm in her stance, her eyes glaring at the poor supervisor that was like hypnotized by the pool of darkness.

He could feel himself drowning in them the more he stared, like a bottomless void, only darkness stared back at him.

Watching from the side, Natasha leaned nearer to the glass. Tony also used the cameras to zoom in, but her eyes were shadowed by her hair, he couldn't see what caused such an extreme reaction from the man.

Sarah felt like her mask was starting to slip, she was losing control over herself, she was slipping back to when she was still in Hydra's hands. She could feel the effects seeing the supervisor start to tremble under her gaze so she closed her eyes to rein her aura back. After a few seconds, she opened them again. This time, her gaze was calm, like a picture-perfect still lake in which a monster hibernates. The danger remained palpable, one ripples and it could resurface.

"It is time to conclude this interview," his voice trembled as he got up, too suddenly to appear unfazed, "It was good to meet you, Ms Cano."

And without further waiting, he left, leaving Sarah to sit alone in the still watched room. She took her time taking off the lie detector and going around, her hand innocently caressing the lie monitor. She felt the itch to destroy it but restrained herself.

Natasha turned away from the see-through wall. "I don't know who the fuck that is, but she is definitely not the average citizen she is pretending to be."

"Well, that's one thing we can agree on." Tony suppressed a shiver, his gaze getting caught in Sarah's. He finally understood the man's reaction as he found himself unable to turn away, caught in the darkness. "It's impossible to see through from her side, right?" he questioned, his voice nearing a whisper.

Natasha turned around to see Sarah leave innocently. When she looked at Tony, he was deep in thoughts. "I'll report our findings to the other team."

"Where were they again? The mall?" Tony chuckled, only muffling his laughter when Natasha glared at him. He could see the buffed captain and timid scientist eating at a café, hiding behind newspapers, awkwardly trying to avoid their fans while also keeping watch.

Not his fault they lost the bet, and no, it was beneath him to cheat, he never would. Tony would never switch his cards using his conveniently long sleeves. Neither would he use invisible cameras to check his opponents' cards and if Natasha gave him dirty eyes the whole game and threatened him afterward, that was only a mirage.

Delia and Sarah were walking down the streets, the darkness of the night engulfing the streets.

"Thanks for accompanying me," Delia slurred, her body relying heavily on Sarah. Her face was reddish, her eyes unfocused. Her accent was resurfacing, her speech wasn't as controlled as during the day. Even in her drunken state, she couldn't help but notice how her friend, despite drinking as much as her, wasn't in the slightest drunk. "How unfair," she whined, squishing Sarah's cold cheeks.
