I was cleaning thorough all my old writings and I found this little thing! It's and Outsiders fanfiction I wrote when I was 13, so i just put it up here for fun, enjoy!
I ran out of the house into the cold October air. I jumped the last two stairs on the old rickety stairs on my deck and landed perfectly on the blacktop. I continued running down the street letting my old converse hit the sidewalk with a thwack . ‘Running late, as usual.” I thought sarcastically to myself as I rounded the corner store where some of my brothers friends were hanging out.
“Late again, Lilly?” Someone called, I looked back to see who it was. Slouching against an old gas sign was old Two-Bit. He always made it a point to embarrass me no matter what.
“I’m not late,” I yelled back “running is just so much fun!” Two-Bit laughed shaking his head.
“Your a crazy girl.” He called as I turned down Maple Ave. that leads to my school. The commons in front were empty, that is a really bad sign. I walked over to the parking lot to where the emergency exit door is always open allowing access to the gym. Just as I had my hand on the knob someone behind me cleared their throat.
I turned to see Joey Swanson looking down at me with a huge smirk on his face.
“Hello, Lillian.” he said dryly, “You wouldn’t happen to have a hall pass now would you?” he asked eyeing my backpack. I sighed,
“Joey, we both know I don’t have a hall pass. Cant you just let me go to class, please?” I tried to give him the puppy dog face but it was not working. Joey was the official school hall monitor, I saw him almost every day. Joey rolled his eyes,
“Office, now!” he said, even though he was only a junior he had a really deep and powerful voice. I groaned and he ignored me. Walking to the office I saw my reflection in the glass window, my hair was a wreck. I have straight brown hair, the most boring hair ever. I had huge bags under my blue eyes, I always do.
I took a seat in the principals office, the secretary gave me the death glare. This was the third time I was here in the past two weeks.
“Ms. Curtis?” Principal Green called out into the waiting room. I stood up and walked into his office.
“Good morning, Principal Green.” I said sweetly putting on my best angle face. He rolled his eyes and put his hands on his bald head.
“Lillian,” he began “This is your fourth time late to school in the last 2 weeks. And all four times you have tried to get into the school from an unauthorized exit.” He took a deep breath and continued “I do not understand why it is so hard for you to get to school on time, but I think your older brother Darrel might want to know about this, don’t you?” he said picking up the phone. Bottom line, he called Darry after I left and I wasn’t to excited about going home that day.
