As we walk outside spotting all of the kids behind their teachers I immediately see Mike staring at me through the big crowd of people in the field. I wonder what he's thinking. I'm trying to read his facial expression but he just looks dead inside, as usual. Oh shit he's speed walking over here. Okay, now he looks mad. Damn. I wonder who got him on his mad side right now...wait that was me. Okay what do I do now? I need to get kicked out so I'll break every rule possible. That means fighting, and this time i'm not going to give up so easily. Suddenly I hear Mike talking to the fire fighter.
"Yes, I'm Anna's mentor, and I used to be Kates." I heard Mike say.
The fire fighter is explaining where she found us and how we had smokes in our hand.
"Oh?" I hear Mike say surprised. "They didn't have anything to do with pulling the fire alarm right?" He asks.
I interrupt their conversation to lie about my mistakes. "No Mike, do you really think we are that stupid? We were just using the restroom it's not a big deal on my god." I roll my eyes trying to be as defiant as possible.
Mike turns his gaze to me and smiles. "Hello to you too Anna. There's no point in lying because they are about to release the footage anyways, so just tell me the truth and we can compromise about your punishment, not including how you spoke to Mr. Adams today." Mike threatens me.
"I'm not lying! Cant you just trust me?" I ask in a pleading way. Hopefully my manipulation works.
Mike walks over to me and grabs my shoulder, "If I trust you right now and you break my trust it's going to be very hard to earn it back. I'm giving you a chance to come clean" He said staring straight into my eyes.
I yank his hand off my shoulder and respond saying how I will never break his trust....yeah-yeah....blah-blah...blah.
"Okay, I believe you." Mike gives into my lies.
Honestly I should feel bad for manipulating Mike but I don't care. All I care about is getting out of this hell hole! The bell goes off indicating that the fire drill is over and we can return to class. Mike tells me to follow him as he collects the rest of his students and heads back to his class.
Kate finds me in the halls and whispers "Anna, you think we might get away with this? We can just lie and say in the footage wasn't us right?" She says kinda worried.
"Katie...I will take all the blame for it okay? It was my idea." I say to her while we walk down the hallway.
Kate quickly responds "no no, you can't do that you will probably get expelled! Please don't." She pleads.
Oh poor poor Kate. That's been my plan all along.
"Trust me, I have it under control okay?" I reassure her. I'm about to enter Mikes dreaded classroom, so I break off the conversation with Kate and once again reassure her that I have it under control. I stroll inside the classroom and see Clay, I smile and he does the same back.
Mike enters his classroom and sits at his desk. I cant help but think of how hot he is. His suit looks so good on him, his big muscles...SNAP OUT OF IT ANNA! He is 25 years old, way to old for you I remind myself.
"Due to the little accident we just had, we only have about 5 minutes left of class, You guys can have free time." Mike announces to the class.
The whole class goes into cheers and Clay walks over to me and sits at the empty desk beside me. "Hey Anderson," he smirks.
"Hey Clay," I blush a little. I love it when he calls me by my last name.
Clay scoots closer to me and whispers into my ear. "We have to keep this on the down low but I'm having a big party this weekend at my place. It's going to be huge, and your invited. Bring as many friends as you can, it's going to be the best party of the year." He says smiling. then he lifts his head from my ear.
