"Welp we're finally here in Polus. Its extremely cold out there, so better check your inplant heaters." Laff ordered to the group around the cafeteria table. They already finished breakfest which is just one of the six types of cereal ; Bran Chex, Cornflakes, Rice Krispies, granola, and even grits with butter with powdered milk. Not exactly a grand buffet or a warm meal.

"And we have to stick in groups atleast 2 or 3, since the imposter is still on the loose." Laff winced at the last part. Everyone shared a glance. They used to have atleast 14 people in the space shuttle. Now theres only 10-11.

"Well then, go out now. We have to do our tasks and research on this planet. The scientist back in MiraHQ thinks theres more than bacterial life in this planet." Laff ushered them out of Skeld. The door opened and the left over crewmates scrambled out.

Polus is a large purple planet with piles of snow on sides. MiraHQ already set up a decent base with seperate buildings for rooms. Each building has artificial  gravity of course. Two  reactors stood in opposite sides, monitoring and collecting data of the oxygen, air and temperature. A cold breeze flew past Meme, making him tense up. Even with suits, he can still feel some of the cold air.

"Remember, do your task and research in groups and be back in Skeld before night time. Find a partner and finish your daily tasks!" Laff ordered once more before walking off with Nadwe following him.

Meme subconsciously scoot over to Socks and cling on to his arm. He didn't know why but he felt safer with him than with any other crewmember. Maybe its because they spend a night in medbay and the orange spaceman didn't suddenly pull out a knife and stab him to death. Socks stared at him for a moment before smiling and nodding. Meme felt his heart flutter at the smile. Was Socks smile always that charming?

He smiled back at Socks and the spaceman look away. Meme swore he saw some tinges of pink on Socks' cheeks. What was that? Huh, probably just imagination.

From the other side of the dropship, Meme saw Blaza grinning widely at him. The banana man eyed Meme clinging Socks' arm, making the doctor blush and decided to just hold his hand. It sent shivers up to his spine and a weird tingle in his stomach.

He didn't look at Blaza again. He's still annoyed on what the banana man said before breakfest. Plus he and Socks is friends thank you very much. They confirmed that twice this morning. Even if it did make his heart ache a bit.

Wait what?

Why did he say that? He did not feel anything about Socks and him still being friends except maybe glad or happy. Their feelings are the same as always. Just platonic. Right?

Are you sure? His brain whispered.

Yes I am, Meme thought stubbornly. But there's a tug inside him that knows it isn't true.

"You okay Meme?" Socks' voice snapped him out of his conflicting thoughts.

"Yeah I'm okay. Just spaced out." Meme offered  a grin. "So what task do you have?"

Socks pull out a a piece of paper that was given to him at breakfest. On it, scribbled a rather long list of task. Meme pull out his own. The amount of tasks he has is the same as Socks, just different things to do. He read down the list, groaning when he spotted some of the tasks he dreaded like donwloading and uploading data (It takes forever to do that), swiping his  keycard (the card reader is so picky and only reads cards that's swiped in the right time), and starting reactor (those blue lights just appear and dissapear so fast!)
