Y/N's POV

We walked up the stairs to the next floor.

"Is it OK for you to tell me about your powers and all? You're supposed to be keeping me in check, right?" Power asked.

"It'll be easier for us to work together if we know each other well," Himeno replied. "I have a trump card too, so we're all chill."

"Then what if I'd kill her?" Power said, creating a sharp weapon out of her blood and pointing it at Kobeni. She's gonna piss herself if this keeps up.

Out of nowhere, a hand grabbed Power's neck and choked her a little.

"Try misbehaving one more time and see what happens," Himeno warned, holding up her right hand the same way the hand around Power's was. It's her Ghost Devil, huh...

"Can't... even... touch it..." Power struggled. She tried to grab its hand but her hand ended up going right through it. Truly a ghost.

The Ghost Devil let go and Power coughed.

"Don't make me do that again, kay?" Himeno said.

"Ugh, I'll eat her one day!" Power exclaimed.

"No, I'm gonna kiss her. Don't," Denji said.

"Wait a minute..." Arai stopped. "Didn't we go up the stairs to get from the 8th to the 9th floor? This is Floor 8!" He was right...

"You sure you didn't miscount or anything? Maybe your eyes are playing tricks on you," Denji said. "I mean, you are an idiot after all."

"Tch. I'll double check!"

"One day, I'll turn her into a steak and gobble her up!" Power could be heard.

Arai went down the stairs to the previous floor, only to meet us once again.

"I've never tried steak before!" Denji exclaimed.

"Arai... I could've sworn you just went down the stairs..." Himeno said. I could sense the nervousness and confusion around everyone.

"Kobeni, stay there, completely frozen like a statue, and hold up 2 peace signs," Himeno ordered. Kobeni did as she said, sweating in fear.

Himeno went down the stairs just to come meet us again, standing behind Arai who hadn't moved since she left.

"Oh my... What do you think this is y/n?"

"A devil's power I'm assuming," I answered. "Let me see."

I went into a room, asking Kobeni to stay completely still as well, Aki following me.

We entered and the room was normal. Then Aki went ahead and looked out the window, just to see another room behind it.

We entered that room and inspected and observed our surroundings.

"It's like these rooms are a simple, accurate reflection to each other," I deduced.

We went out the door of the second room, just to arrive back in the hallway, but we came out from behind Kobeni, opposite from when we started.

"None of the windows lead outside!" Denji told us. "They're just connected to the rooms on the opposite side!!"

"Then that means we're stuck," Aki said.

All of us decided to stay in one of the rooms, Himeno enjoying her cigarette, some of us on the beds, and some of us standing.

"So here's what's going on. No matter how many stairs we climb up or down, we always arrive back on the 8th floor. Windows and other possible exits and entryways won't work either," Aki concluded.
