CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR💜

      Immediately she sees Geraldine, she attempts to take another direction, but it's too late, because she had been spotted too.

"Jewel Adenuga.”

She stops walking immediately, she gets to where Geraldine stood, she didn't know her reaction, because she doesn't bother looking at her face.

"Shouldn't we stop this, are you still avoiding me, its been days?" Geraldine says in a carefree manner, making Jewel look up to her, but doesn't utter a word.

"Can we just clear things?" Geraldine asks, you could hear the sincerity in her voice.

"There is nothing to clear. We should just forget about everything." Jewel says, her face void of any emotion, you couldn't tell what was going on, in her mind by just looking at her face.

"Are you okay?" Geraldine asks in a sober tone. Meanwhile, Jewel turns to her quietly.

"Yeah?" Jewel responds, making it more confusing, because it sounded like a question.

"Okay, let's go into that class. Where have you been eating?" Geraldine asks immediately they got into the empty classroom, Jewel hadn't been joining them in the cafeteria, since the day of the argument.

In truth, Jewel hadn't been going to the cafeteria, but feeding from her provisions.

"Hostel," Jewel says, now leaning on a chair.

"I'm sorry for yelling at you!" Geraldine apologizes, meanwhile Jewel continues playing with her fingers.

"Jewel?" Geraldine calls out.

"I have forgotten about that,” Jewel responds.

"Have you done your physics assignment?" Geraldine asks, looking grim.

"No!" Jewel responds truthfully. "I would do it later. But I am having issues with the topic." She complains.

“I was too. Munachi helped me out." Geraldine says. "If you want, i could talk to her... "

"No! Thank you. i would rather go to my brother." Jewel suddenly stops when she realized how she sounded. "I would understand better. Besides i don't think we can actually be friends, I would rather stay away from her to avoid any beef." Jewel says calmly.

"You can always start afresh. Fine let's talk things out, with Munachi. Honestly, she is a nice person. It's just a misunderstanding between you two. I think we all can be friends.” Geraldine says, with all honesty, meanwhile Jewel scoffs.

"You are talking like you don't know me. If I don't like someone, there is nothing that can change anything, especially when the person is..., " Jewel pauses, facing Geraldine fully. "Don't sweat it." She smiles, meanwhile Geraldine licks her dry lips.

"Okay, will you join us in the suya hunt?" Geraldine asks, meanwhile Jewel who had no idea of what she was talking about raises her eyebrow, meanwhile Geraldine smiles.

"Munachi introduced us," Geraldine says quite excited. Meanwhile, Jewel releases a small smile. "You know, since she is new here, we are the one supposed to introduce her to things, " Geraldine chuckles. "But it's the other way around. She said we should try reaching out to one of the gatekeepers, she had seen some Ss2 students doing it.

So Nengi said we should, it worked. So we have been enjoying mouth-watering suya’s.” Geraldine smiles. "God, | don't even know what makes it this sweater, or is it the fact it's illegal?"

All this while Jewel stared back at Geraldine while she spoke, with a smile on her face. She couldn't stop the feeling of been replaced. Even Nengi was part of there fun.
