I see her eyes again but this time they are very close to mine. She is sitting beside me with her hand on mine, smiling at me. I try to hide my blush but I am not able to. She leans forward and I lean forward and just before our lips are about to meet I hear a sudden sound and turn around. And with that I woke up. It was a dream. I was going to kiss her in my dream.
I lay awake on the bed for a while, just letting the feeling sink in. I have never felt like this before. Not for anyone ever. I barely saw her talked to her, I am sure she doesn't even remembers me then why am I thinking so much about her. Why am I obsessing about her soft pale skin, her beautiful eyes, her pink lips.
I get up, trying to find my t-shirt which I had removed just before sleeping. Once I found it, I decided to get on with my morning routine. The only thing that remain constant throughout is I am not able to get her out of my mind. It is a gloomy Sunday morning, nothing like my mood. Even though I am glad I kept up my father's tradition of giving all the employees a winter break every year, I sort of miss office already as I have no one home and even my pervy old man aka Jiraya is in Europe for his latest novel Make out tactics. I have read that one before it released and oh boy, it was hot.
After having breakfast I decided to get out of the house and roam around the neighborhood for a while, maybe go to the park or something. As I walk to the park, I cross her building and the image of her face comes back to my mind. What is this girl doing to me? I stroll around the park, look at families and children playing in snow and after roaming around there for a while I decide to head back home.
As I walk back home peeping into small shops along to way, I spot her again. Without thinking what is it, I just walk into the store. Turns out it is a book store. Crap...I don't even read as much what do I do now? I look around before carefully going to the same section as her, Romance and fiction. I take a random book and look at her, it is the first time I look at her properly. She is wearing a purple winter jacket and blue jeans. She looks absolutely stunning.
She is almost about to walk away but I build up some courage and decide that I need to at least know her name, if not anything else. I slowly walk up to her until she notices me and is a little startled.
"Hey!" I say excitedly "You're the girl from yesterday who gave me that last cup of ramen"
"Hi" she says shyly, "you remembered?"
"Hell yes, I remember anyone who gives me ramen" Why the heck did I just say that. I
"Oh, okay"
"I am Naruto by the way, Naruto Uzumaki" I say changing the subject before I make it more awkward. "Nice to meet you"
"Nice to meet you too, I am Hinata Hyuga"
"Hinata...that's a pretty name. I have never seen you around before are you new here?"
"You can say, I used to live at Konoha University Campus dorm, but I decided to move out for my last one and a half years, landed up with a nice place near by."
"Oh that's great, I was at Konoha university too till last year, I am shocked I didn't see you around campus"
"I like to keep it to myself generally. Not much of a party person either."
"I see! Well I met you now, didn't I, so that's good!" I looked at the book in her hand, "are you going to buy that?"
She turned a little red, a faint blush on her cheeks, "yes I am buying this, I like to read. Aren't you buying anything?"
"No no, I am not much of a reader, I came here 'cause I was bored."
"Okay" she said with a smile.
She paid for her book and we walked out of the store. I didn't know what more to talk about.
"Will you walk me home?" she said suddenly, turning red as a tomato.
"I would love to," I said with the biggest grin possible.
Even though I know her building, I let her lead the way. We walk in silence for a while until she almost jumps on me.
"Are you okay?" I asked startled.
"I am so sorry, I didn't mean to, I saw a cockroach and I hate them." she said still scared.
Then realizing that she is almost in my arms, she quickly moves away, her face red with what just happened. Even I get red after what just happened. We complete the rest of the walk awkward and not talking to each other.
"That's my building, I hope it is not out of the way for you?"
"No no not at all, my house is just two blocks away from here"
"Thank you for dropping me home. I will see you later."
"Later? Later when?"
"Umm...I meant I will see you around, we live in the same neighborhood"
"Ohh, I thought you would want to see me later, 'cause...." I looked her at mesmerizing eyes, "'cause I would want to." My heartbeat raced up and I was almost going to run away because of my stupidity.
"Where?"
"Where? where?"
"I mean where do you want to meet later?"
"You will hangout with me? Really?"
"Yeah, I don't have friends as such and you look like a genuine person."
"Thanks, that sounds nice. Have you eaten at Ichiraku's? They have the best ramen in entire Konoha or in Japan."
"No, I haven't, I don't eat ramen as much but I wouldn't mind."
"Great then I will come by your place by 6pm, we can walk to Ichiraku together, it is just a 20 mins walk from here."
"Sure"
"Great, I will see you later"
"Umm, Na...Naruto, can I...can I get your phone number?" she said turning red again.
"Sure thing"
We exchanged numbers and I send her a text message to make sure it was her number only. After that, we bid farewell and I walk back home really happy afterall I was going to take Hinata Hyuga to Ichiraku. But wait was this a date or was this not? She said she didn't have friends that's why she would like to hangout, what if she didn't think this to be a date? I pushed aside the thought, and decided to just be happy.
