The bond we found

I walk as fast as I can, I don't want to be late to pick Hinata up. It is already 6, she might think I ditched her. Damn you Naruto and your stupid sleep. I had fallen asleep right after lunch and woke up 10 minutes before 6pm. This is the exact reason why you are single, and no one takes you seriously. The quicker I tried to reach, her building felt even more far than usual.

I see her, standing at the gate of her building, with an almost sad face. She finally saw me and her face lightened up.

"Sorry Hinata, I am so sorry, I over slept a bit."

"Hey, it's okay, besides I also came 5 minutes late, so I didn't had to wait for very long," she said literally beaming.

Hinata is cute, her lips are so pink. What the hell have I been thinking. But as she smiled at me, I couldn't help but look at her lips. Plumpy, yet not so plump, glossy, with a tint of pink. I think those have to be the best lips I have ever seen. I push the thought out of my mind.

For sometime we walk in silence until we reach Konoha TV tower, which interested her. Even after being in Konoha for so long, she hadn't visited Konoha TV tower. Her argument being, she is shy and not an out going person. We finally reach Ichiraku. 

It has been a week since even I ate here. I had just too many meetings last entire week thanks to everyone going for the 2 weeks of winter holiday provided by the company. Tenuchi sa has always loved me, even when I was a little kid and so has big sister Ayame.

After the accident the first person to share one of the most precious memory as well story with me was Tenuchi sa. I was 4 when I was wondering the streets alone when I first came across Ichiraku. With no money in my pocket, I decided to leave but Tenuchi sa stopped me and asked me to come and sit. He asked for my name and when he came to know I am Naruto Namikaze Uzumaki, he came out of the counter and hugged me tight. He told me how my parents had come for their first date to Ichiraku and it was one of the most heart touching stories in a while. That is why knowingly or unknowingly, I asked Hinata to come to Ichiraku with me.

We reached Ichiraku and sat together at one corner.

"Old man Tenuchi, how have you been?"

"Naruto, I was worried not seeing you here for a week," Tenuchi sa said all worried, then he saw Hinata and I could see twinkle in his eyes. He turned to Hinata and said, "Hello, who might you be? Naruto is a good kid, be good to him."

Hinata giggled a little bit, "Hello, my name is Hinata, it is nice to meet you." She suddenly turned to me and smiled, "And I know Naruto is a good kid."

"I am not a kid," I said pouting and the three of us laughed. I think that was enough to cut through the little bit of awkwardness we had been feeling along the way.

"I will have miso ramen with pork slices."

"I will try the same," said Hinata.

Once Tenuchi sa left after taking our order, Hinata and I stared at each other for a long moment before both of us blushed and turned away.

"So, how do you find living off campus now?"

"It feels very safe."

"Safe? Why do you say safe?"

"It's nothing, some dorm mates had played some pranks on me and I couldn't be a sport to take it, that's it."

"Ohh" I didn't know what else to say. "I am a very good listener you know. You can tell me when you feel comfortable enough okay?"

"Okay"

Our ramen arrived and we ate in silence for a little while focusing mainly on food.

"This is really good," she said suddenly.
