Chapter 6: Secret

Lisa was in her desk, trying to study for the exams next week but she just couldn't focus on it. What happened earlier was going on in her head. Her mind was replaying that incident and she kept thinking about the outcome of she was strong enough to say no to Mino and drop Jennie off to her house. She kept getting lost in her thoughts before she would shake her head and try to study. Just then Nini came in from the window and hopped on the desk on which Lisa was studying.

"meow~" Nini meowed and stopped Lisa from writing from her tiny paws.

Lisa gave a small smile and kept away her pencil. She picked up Nini and cooed, "Nini you came to see me? aww..." She patted and kissed the cat.

"meow~~" Jennie purred in response. She always loved how Lisa would scratch at the back of her ear.

"I've exams from next week. I can't play with you much." She replied. "Are you hungry???" She asked then got up to get food for the cat.

Lisa brought milk in the cat food plate and presented it in front of Nini. Nini immediately started to lap the milk. Lisa smiled at the sight.

"Thank you for coming today Nini." Lisa patted the cat. "I really needed to cool off a little today."

"meow?" Nini looked up to Lisa.

"Today wasn't really a good day." Lisa spoke. She likes to share her feelings with the cat since she has no friends technically. It takes some burden off her chest when she shares her feelings with her Nini.

"I wish I could become a bit more confident." Lisa said.

Jennie the cat, Nini stared at her silently. She assumes Lisa is talking about the incident that happened earlier. She is guessing that Lisa is regretting for not taking a stand against Mino when he pushed her so badly.

"I wish I had enough courage to tell Mino to back off...wish I could tell Jennie that I wanted to take her home." Lisa whispered quietly looking at her hands, as if judging herself.

Jennie was startled. She did not expected that Lisa wanted to take her home. "meow~" Nini licked Lisa's fingers as if cheering her up. She felt kind of giddy to think that Lisa wanted to walk her home.

Lisa smiled at Nini. She scratched her head and cooed at her cuteness.

"I promise to be more confident next time." She smiled.

The last bell rang. The school was over. Everyone packed up and immediately left in a hurry. Lisa packed up and looked for Jennie. She saw Jennie standing their with her friends like usual.

'It's now or never.' she thought.

She prepared herself, her heart and walked up to Jennie.

Jennie surrounded by her friends, Jisoo, Chaeyoung, Irene and Nayeon immediately stopped talking when they saw Lisa walking to them. Jennie smiled widely and waved her hand. Jisoo, Chaeyoung, Irene and Nayeon looked at her in confusion.

"H-Hi Jennie..." Lisa spoke quietly with blush on her cheeks.

"Hi!!!!" Jennie cheerfully replied.

"I-...umm..." The other girls were staring at Lisa which made her uncomfortable. She took a deep breath and spoke again.

"W-We are having exams from next week." Lisa gulped down her saliva. "You n-need to study." Right after she said that she thought it was rather a bad way to put it that way. She wanted to say that she would like to study with Jennie.

Irene let you a snicker. "She knows she needs to study you don't need to tell her."

"I-..um.. s-sorry, I didn't mean to say that." Lisa apologized thinking she said something really bad.

Chaeyoung pushed Irene a little. "Stop scaring her!!! Look at her! She looks so scared!!!"

Lisa looked at Jennie again. "I wanted to say that, I would like us to study together." She finally said those words she wanted to say.

Jennie's cat eyes widen in shock. Did she heard it correctly? Lisa really asking her to study with her??? A widest smile appeared on her small face.

"YESS!!! She replied a way too quickly and enthusiastically, normally a person would do.

Lisa let out a smile hearing that. "Nice. We could study in the library." She suggested.

"But your apartment would be better and more comfortable!" Jennie suggested this instead.

"O-Okay..." Lisa nodded. She don't have any problem with that.

"Wait wait wait! What about us???" Nayeon said with a raising eyebrow.

"You all can study on your own! Bye~~" Jennie giggled as she clings to Lisa and dragged her out of the classroom.

Her friends smiled at the sight. "Everything is going okay I guess." Jisoo said with a soft smile.

"Hmm..." The other girls nodded with a smile.

"Lisa-yah how do you solve this one???" Jennie asked looking up to Lisa.

Lisa sighed loudly. "Jennie, you at least have to solve one problem by yourself."

"But I don't get it." Jennie pouted.

"You have to try at least." Lisa took the pencil from Jennie's hand and started to solve it.

"Here. Understood???" Lisa asked Jennie.

"Hmm..." Jennie hesitantly nodded. "Let's take a break now!" She threw her body on the bed.

"We did not even studied an hour." Lisa complained looking at Jennie who almost doze off.

Lisa sighed and closed her book too. Then suddenly she remembered about Nini. Nini did not visited her today. It's weird. That cat comes to meet her almost everyday.

"You know there is a cat who always comes to meet me." Lisa casually told Jennie.

Jennie frozed up for a moment. "Y-Yeah?"

"Yes. She kind of looks like you. I named her Nini. I wonder if she will come today. I want you to meet her." Lisa stood up by the window and looked out of the window to see if Nini is hanging out near by.

Jennie gulped nervously. She think, what will happen if Lisa find out her secret. Will she be happy? Will she be angry at her? Or what if Lisa will be disgusted with her? Not everyone can transform into an animal. What if Lisa will think that she is an alien and never talk to her again??? What if Lisa-

"Hey are you okay?" Lisa asked Jennie, breaking her from her reverie. Jennie was looking very scared.

"Y-Yeah I'm fine." Jennie replied. She paused and thought for a second. Is this the right time to tell Lisa the truth about her? At some point she need to tell Lisa the truth. She can't keep it forever. One day Lisa will eventually find out. Maybe this is the best time to confess about her secret.

"L-Lisa I want to tell you something." Jennie quietly spoke looking at Lisa.

"Yeah?" Lisa stared at Jennie with confusion. Jennie was looking really nervous which was very rare.

Jennie took a deep breath and spoke.
