🌕 𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗 XXXVII 🌑

"Ok let's move!" Miyeon said. They jumped off the van and in quick, careful and silent steps they reached the cap of the sewer at the suburbs of town. Siwon, a vampire that had gone with them, dragged the cap as silent as he could.

"Jump in!" Miyeon whispered-shouted at Hyunjin and Chaewon. Hyunjin was the first one to jump in as if it was nothing. Chaewon moved close to the opening and looked underneath her. The depth of the sewer wasn't that big yet she couldn't be sure if her legs would hurt her or not when she would jump. She took in a deep breath and jumped in. Her feet made a loud thud as soon as they came into contact with the ground and her legs felt like jelly. She bit her lips hard as she groaned slightly. In fact, the depth was at least 2.50 meters so of course her legs hurt from jumping in.

Hyunjin dragged her quickly so no one was going to fall on top of her on their way down there. Chaewon looked at her for a few seconds. Hyunjin had her serious, unreadable expression on. Whatever had been said between them in the van a few minutes ago it was forgotten, as if it had been ages ago. Hyunjin had left that talk and her feelings back to the van and now she was back to her serious mode. Chaewon wasn't sure how she managed to do that. She was a professional after all.

Miyeon jumped and then, Siwon was the last one to jump back down and place the cap back to its place so no one would know that they took the sewers to reach the palace. Miyeon turned on her flashlight and moved at the front. Behind her was Hyunjin, and Chaewon tried her best to walk quickly and be next to Hyunjin. Even though her legs still felt numb from the jump's impact a few seconds earlier, she had to drag them and follow Miyeon. She didn't want to be left behind or get lost.

The sewers were dark, there was a lot of dirty water on their feet and the air smelled really badly. And normally Chaewon would have been disgusted and actually not follow them at all and just climb back up and get at the normal streets of the city. But things were different now. Now, they were on a serious, suicidal mission so Chaewon couldn't care less. She needed to keep going.

As the time passed, and they moved on more and more, the sewers got more complicated. More and more turns and crossroads. They also got more and more narrow. Some of them at least. Chaewon almost screamed when Miyeon's flashlight accidentally caught a rat. The rat quickly ran off in the water and then took some random tube and got lost from their sight. Even though Chaewon wanted to focus on their mission, that was so abrupt that scared her off. Plus, it was a rat after all. It was... so disgusting. Everything about taking the sewers was disgusting actually but it was their only way. So Chaewon needed to ignore it, focus on their mission and keep moving.

Soon, Miyeon sent a signal to Baekhyun and he and some men climbed up and dragged the cap of the sewer away. They left, probably going to save Yerim, Yeojin and YooA. Chaewon could only hope that everything was going to be alright. At least with the three girls...

They kept walking and walking and then, Miyeon suddenly stopped walking. Hyunjin stopped as well and Chaewon had to stop too. She ended up doing so, but it was so abrupt since she wasn't ready for such a sudden move. She almost fell on Miyeon's back. Miyeon signaled them to keep quiet. Chaewon bit her lips and held her breath in, in fear that even her breathing could betray them. 

"Night shifts sucks man."

"I know. But someone has to do it. Do you have light?"

"Yeah sure. Here?"

"Thanks."

Some random soldiers were heard from above them. They were probably having their night patrol around the city's streets. Their talking soon faded away and so did their footsteps.
