Hyejoo froze. She stopped pacing around. Her clenched fists losen, so much that they weren't even fists anymore. Her eyes were wide, her eyebrows raised, her body got chills. She couldn't think straight, couldn't feel. There were so many things in her head at that moment, but at the same time, there was nothing in there.

She wasn't facing Chaewon, fortunately for her. But she felt so dumb for not being able to answer a damn question. She had never felt so shocked and overwhelmed with feelings and thoughts. How could she answer Chaewon when she had been so off guard that she couldn't even remember her own name?

Her mouth opened and closed a few times, her throat was bobbing up and down as she swallowed hard. She tried to utter a word. A single word. But she couldn't. She tried to shake her head but she wasn't even sure if Chaewon saw that. She could feel her staring though. And it made her more and more nervous. Why was she getting so nervous? Was it that hard to tell her?

"Ok I get it." Chaewon mumbled slowly. No. No she didn't get it. Not at all...

Hyejoo sighed. She clenched her fists again and turned around quickly. For some reason she got upset. Upset from Chaewon's answer.

"N-no. No it's not that and no I don't hate you!" Hyejoo said. Her voice was unstable but her tone was firm. She wasn't sure how she did that. Being sure but unsure at the same time. I guess it happened because her mind was in a total chaos.

"Oh." Chaewon said as she raised her head and met Hyejoo's eyes. Hyejoo froze more. Chaewon's expression was a serious one. A really serious one. Her facial characteristics were sharp. Her jaw and teeth were clenched. Whenever Chaewon did that was when she was trying to hold in her emotions. It was hard for Hyejoo to read her expressions and understand her feelings at that moment but from how serious and tense Chaewon looked, Hyejoo could understand that they were both affected by it. By... whatever it was happening at that moment.

"Then why are you avoiding me?" Chaewon asked her. Her voice was unstable as well. It sounded slightly louder. Was Chaewon angry? Hurt? Sad? On the verge of tears? Hyejoo couldn't be sure. All the possibilities could be since Chaewon was somehow like that to all the above.

Hyejoo opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out from her mouth. Her mouth was dry and her tongue was numb. Chaewon took in a deep breath. She closed her eyes for a brief second and as soon as she opened them they were glossy. She blinked hard, pushing those tears away and said,

"Nevermind. Just forget I asked." She looked slightly calmer. Had she calmed down? Or has she given up completely? Hyejoo wanted to answer her, to say something, even yell but in the end, she did nothing. She just saw Chaewon walking away, back to her spot.

Hyejoo hadn't moved from her own spot. Too frozen to do so. She tried her best to clear her mind and say something, anything. But it was too late. Chaewon had already "forgotten" about their talk and so should she.

"I'm going to check around here." Chaewon said as she stood up and started pacing around their group.

'Be careful!' Hyejoo wanted to say. She never did.

'You're such a dumbass!' Olivia spoke.

'About time. And I've been wondering why I feel so lost!' Hyejoo answered her back as she rolled her eyes. She was expecting to be scared when Olivia would appear in her mind for the first time. But she didn't. No. It felt... like a relief. Like a reassuring.

'So now you're going to blame me for your sumb attitude? Excuse me but it's not my fault that you're a coward.'

'I'm not! I'm just dealing with stuff ok?' Hyejoo yelled in her head. This was crazy. She felt crazy.
