Just a Project

chapter 5

I tried to avoid Logan but of course I just had to have history last period. History was the class that I was unfortunately partnered with Logan for the project with.

The bell had rung 5 minutes ago and everyone was sat in class listening to Mr Lock.  Logan was glaring at me from across the classroom. I tried to ignore him but it was impossible. I really didnt like him.
"Right you may all go work with your partners, you can go to the library if you want but no going of school grounds"  everyone excitedly got into pairs and began talking about what they would do. I decided to try convince Mr Lock into letting me work alone.  "It would be so much easier Mr Lock if you let me work alone" I say after approaching him. It's not like Logan will contribute much. "Sorry but this is partner work" he said sitting down and taking out some unmarked work to mark.

"Come on nerd girl, let's go to the library" Logan said in an over enthusiastic tone. Just great. I reluctantly follow him out of the class. I didnt expect him to go to the library, I was expecting him to either skip or hurl a ton of insults at me. "Dont look so suprised nerd girl. I'm only here because I promised my mum I'd do the work I got set" he shrugged. "Well I can do it myself" I reply and he rolls his eyes "I dont doubt that nerd girl but I'd like to keep my promise" just great. I guess I should give him a chance.
"Fine let's do this" I reluctantly agree.

For the next two hours we worked on our project. He surprisingly contributed alot. Our talking was just about the project. I wouldnt be suprised if he didnt even know my name. Nevertheless I didnt care because after this project I would never see him again. Then I remembered how I was suppose to teach him the work he missed. "So about the work, do you want to take my notes and just copy them up" I ask knowing it would be easier. "Sure nerd girl, the less time around you the better" ok so that hurt but I remembered I havent exactly been the nicest person to him either. "Great, I want them back when you're done with them" I say taking them out. "Whatever" he replied, clearly bored. We began to pack up as the bell was about to go. 

I quickly left with him following behind. I had to grab some books from my locker, unfortunately so did he and his locker was oppersite mine. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Brianna approach him. I knew then I had to leave before things turned explicit.  "I'm so sorry you got partnered with that" she said loudly, I scoffed, i was a thing now. "Its ok" logan replied and for a moment i thought maybe he wasnt going to bully me but obviously that moment didn't last long. "At least nerd girl will give me good grades, apart from that shes pretty useless" for some reason his words hurt more than Brianna's. I quickly shut my locker and headed towards the main doors, hearing them both laugh, I decided that for once I'd stand up for myself. "I might be useless but at least I'm not a criminal" I say and suddenly regret it. Everyone in the hallways went quiet. The irritation on Logans face turned into anger. Well shit.

"I suggest you shut your stupid mouth if you know what's good for you" he warned as he approached me. Fuck it, I was already screwed I might as well dig myself a deeper grave. "Get in line,   you're not the first to threaten me" I say hiding the growing fear. For a minute he looked confused but then his anger came back. "Oh believe me nerd girl, I don't get in line, I suggest you do your research on me before you say stupid stuff. Out of curiosity what do you think I did that got me in juvie" he snapped. "I dont know, arson?" It was the first crime that came into my head. He laughed but it was more of a dark maniac laugh. "Well you are one stupid bitch, nerd girl" he snarled and as he got closer the fear overpowered the little confidence I had. I turned and ran. I wasn't going to stick around and find out what he was going to do.

Logan

Nerd girl was an annoyance. Calling me a criminal in front of the half the school pissed me off. I had been to juvie but not because I was a criminal, at least I didnt see myself as one.  I laughed as she ran away. She was a bitch and once this project is over I'll never speak to her again, maybe the odd insult here and there but I had no time for girls like her.

I stormed out of school not liking the fact everyone was watching me. Two weeks and then she would be gone from my life. The pathetic nerd, she couldnt even face me. I was also annoyed at the fact I decided to walk to school, I didnt feel like walking home but due to my mums complaining about me needing fresh air I decided to walk this morning. I really wish I didnt listen now. I reluctantly set of walking thinking about how I could make nerd girls life hell for a few weeks.
