Lauren
I took a longer route getting home after school as I didn't want to run into anyone. I had left school quickly Not wanting to be stuck with Logan for any longer. Suprisingly when I got in both my parents were home. "Lauren in here" my mum called from the kitchen, I carefully entered wondering why she was home this early. When I entered I saw she was cooking.
"How was your day" she asked in a cheery tone.
"It was fine" I say thinking about the work I got done.
"Not much of a talker tonight. I hope you will talk more when the Daniels come round" she said and my eyes widened in shock.
A few years ago I had a best friend, we did everything together and were inseparable but he had to move away. I got new friends pretty quick and almost forgot about him. Then I moved and I now had no friends.Logan Daniels. He was someone I could rely on no matter what. I felt nervous seeing him again after all these years.
"Does she know they are coming over" dad asked walking in. "Yes I think she's in shock" mum told him and dad laughed. "They should be here any minute" as he said that there was a knock at the door.
Mum put her cooking stuff down and her and dad went to the door, I followed behind slowly. Not knowing what to expect, it had been 6 years. Logan probably forgot me.
When they opened the door I was in shock to see Logan from school stood behind Morgan his mum.
The new boy was Logan, my ex best friend.
I should have seen it sooner but it has been 6 years and just having the name Logan meant nothing. There was about 6 Logan's in our class year alone.
Logan pov
I got home pretty quick thankfully taking the car today. Morgan ran up to me as soon as I closed the door "logy" she squeeled and I smiled "hey little one, how was your day" I smile down at her. I would do anything for my family especially my little sister. "I learnt to count logy" she said with excitement. "Well done baby" I say. "Mummy wants to see you" she told me and I nod and give her a quick bye before I go to the kitchen where mum would probably be.
"Logan your home, how was school, make any friends"
"Not really" I shrug, I wasn't a fan of alot of kids at this new school. Alot of girls acted way to desperate which I didn't mind but they weren't worth my time making friends with them.
"Well we are going to visit some old friends" mum announced cheerily and I groaned. I wasn't in the mood to sit and listen to her friends talk about how tall I'm getting.
"The walkers" she exclaimed and my eyes lit up.Lauren Walker. My best friend. I hadn't seen or spoken to her in 6 years. There was no excuse for not talking to her once I moved but we never did. We were inseparable as kids and hearing we were visiting them I felt a little excited to see her.
We didn't take Morgan as mum wanted her in bed early as she had been awake at 4am. Dad stopped home with her so it was just mum and I.
Mum knocked on the door and I felt myself getting nervous until the door opened and I saw her parents but behind I saw Nerd girl.
I stare at her as I start to realize nerd girl was my Lauren.
I knew Nerd girl was called Lauren but I had known so many Lauren's I didn't think much of it.
"Hey nerd girl" I smirk, not knowing how to react to my best friend being the girl I hate.
"Hey arrogant jerk" she mumbled glaring at me."It seems the kids have met already" Mum beamed and I nodded. "Yeah mum I just wasn't aware she was Lauren" I say wanting to keep my mum happy. All three adults laugh at this. "Come in" Lauren's mum says and we do.
Mum wasted no time starting a lengthy conversation with both of them and I'm stuck with nerd girl.
"I must have the worst luck ever" she mumbled to herself.
"Why" I ask figuring I might as well talk to her.
"Because my ex best friend is a massive jerk" she said and for some reason I didn't like the words ex and jerk. I hated this feeling.
"I have worse luck, my ex best friend is a huge nerd" I tell her and she laughs. For some awful reason I enjoyed her laugh rather than the annoyed, sad look she had when I picked on her.
"At least she's not dumb" she counters making me smile.
"My ex best friend is vain as hell" she continued this time I laughed a little.
"My ex best friend wouldn't tutor me"3rd person
The parents talked in the kitchen, catching up on their lives whilst the two teenagers had turned what started as a insult into a competitive game. Both were laughing from time to time and both were starting to realize that the other wasn't as bad as they thought.
They both silently agreed that this wouldn't effect their attitude to each other especially in school. They were not best friends, hell they weren't even friends.
