"Sir Shirogane" Melenor repeated surprised over her nephew question. She had thought it was clear that she wouldn't speak over her knight but that's when she noticed the look in her nephew eyes and decided it was time to tell him the truth over his once beloved hero. The story that showed how much of a hero Shiro was in her eyes.
"Yeah, what's his story?" Lance asked as he sat beside his auntie, sitting on an uncomfortable metal bench on Daibazaal planet, enjoying the small view of the garden they decided to rest at while Alfor and Zarkon talked business.
"It's a common story for some but rare for others. Sir Shirogane has never once lied over his lineage. His mother was human, a slave brought because of her rare Asian beauty but thankfully she wasn't used as a sex slave. She was just a servant for the Lord and Lady on the mansion who despised humans and saw them as nothing but creatures to punish and use like slaves" Melenor started to say with a calm tone, placing her hands in her lap and she looked to the flowers planted not too far away from them, being stopped by her nephew before she could say anymore.
"His mother was human. But how did he become a knight, Uncle wouldn't have any humans near the castle of lions" Lance whispered yelled out in shock, confusion written all over his face. Turning to his auntie and waiting for the much needed to know answers.
"Sir Shirogane had saved Princess Allura life when he was a young teen, he was training to be a knight anyways and never spoke over his human side unless asked and since he looked Altean no one questioned it. Sir Shirogane had worked for his standing in life and he held a true honest heart that not even my husband could reject. He's only a knight because Sir Shirogane wins the heart of any around him. Plus, when I knew my husband wouldn't vowel him as a knight, I made him a knight to my name instead. That's why he's helping those runaway humans as freely as he is, I have him such orders to follow" Melenor explained the main part of Shiro stepping into the knight life and how his actions all fall to her own name, one she's allowed since he was the one person she could trust to protect any humans he come across. She never once regretted making Shiro a knight with her own name and she'll gladly accept any punishments for having her knight help free humans if anyone ever finds out she was giving such orders out. She loves her husband and her daughter but she couldn't just sit back anymore, she had to try and help even if it meant doing it behind her family back and using a simple knight to do her biddings.
