Movies - Jaya / Coliel

Jay's POV:

"I'm bored," I groan. Currently, I lie on the sofa, my arms and legs sprawled so that they're hanging off the edges. Sensei Wu gave us a night off (I know!!!) and so we decided to play video games and just vibe about in the living room of the monastery. We're at that stage where you just wanna leave because its late and you're tired and bored. Before anyone can respond, we hear a crash as a blur of pink bursts through the door.

"Give it back!"

Seliel stops abruptly and turns around to face Cole, who is a blushing mess, wearing his hoodie. Cole look back at her surprised - in fact, everyone seems to be surprised that she listened to him. Apart from me. I could see what was about to happen. She puts on her devious smile before blasting off again, "Try me, Cole!" That's my sister.

"Seliel!" Cole groans, and I can't help but smile. They are the cutest couple ever. That thought subconsciously causes my head to turn towards Nya. Kai has forced her into doing a TikTok with him. She sends me a small smile before mouthing 'help' at me. I feel my heart flutter. It's like those butterflies in my stomach just went whoosh and now they are doing all sorts of things like picking at my heart and tying my stomach in knots. I hear screams/giggles to see Seliel narrowly dodging Cole as he tries to get his hoodie back. I don't see how that would work considering the hoodie is... well, on her, but it's Cole. He'll find away.

I get up to go to the fridge and get something to drink. Lying on the sofa doing nothing is tiring. I seem to have gotten up just in time because almost as soon as I get up Cole has tackled Sel onto the sofa. She giggles, "Cole!" she squirms. "Cole get off! Plea- haha please aha," more giggles as he tickles her until she looks like she's on the verge of tears. Still giggling though. Cole just looks at her with goofy, lopsided smile on his face. "You're such an idiot." Seliel gives him another one of her smiles. "But you still love me," she says teasingly curling her arms around Cole. They just sort of stare at each other, completely lovestruck, and I can't help but wish I had that.

Nya seems to have finished her TikTok with Kai, and is currently curled up in a beanbag, on her phone. I almost seem to have forgotten why I took the lengthy midnight trek of 20 feet to the fridge. I turn to open it to see Kai grinning at me.

"What do you want Kai?" I say, rolling my eyes. His expression quickly turns to a clueless one, coughing while he talks. "Oh it's nothing..." Something is obviously up, but I honestly can't be asked to deal with it right now. I grab a carton of apple juice and pour some into a glass.

"Guys we're putting on a movie! Whatd'ya wanna watch?"

I stop pouring my drink. I race to the sofa and grab a spot next to Nya. Perfect. In case you are confused - there are 3 reasons for my sudden rush:

Number 1 - I want first dibs on the movie. It had better be some sort of comedy or Finding Nemo. If Lloyd had a choice we'd probably be watching something dumb like Toy Story. What are we - 5?

Number 2 - If I don't get there soon, all the sofa spaces will be taken up, and I will be shunned to the floor. And that's just sad-

Number 3 - I want to sit next to Nya. That's it. If she falls asleep, she falls asleep on me. #smart.

"You were quick to rush back here," Nya notices, raising an eyebrow. If asked, resort to reason 2. ALWAYS reason 2. "Oh, erm- yeah, I didn't want to end up on the floor." I say grabbing a blanket before they're all taken too. Cole tries to take a seat on this sofa between me and Nya, but Kai walks in dragging him to the side to talk about something.

After ages of browsing through movies, we decided to go with 'Instant Family' and so we all prepare for laughs and waterworks. Just as we start, Nya whispers, "Hey Jay, can we share the blanket? Pweeeeease?" She says, giving me puppy eyes. Not that she needs to. I end up snuggling closer to her so that we can both fit under the blanket. She seems to be content with the warmth of the blanket, not realising that half of said warmth is coming from my entire face heating up. Fortunately, the dark lighting means that nobody can see my red face.

Nya is staring at the screen with wide eyes, as Lizzie walks out to the car, and her brother is holding the drill. I already know what's going to happen but I continue to watch as it turns on before he drops it... on it foot. I yelp and bury my face into Nya's shoulder, unaware that it was in fact, well, Nya's shoulder.

"See this Seliel? This is what'll happen if you keep messing around with my earth driller! Except it'll go straight through your pretty face." Cole says, utterly serious, to Seliel. "Oh, so you think my face is pretty? I never knew you felt this way Co-," she is cut off by Cole shoving a nearby pillow in her face.

Nya's cringing at the fact that Lizzie lied about the boy and now the guy is getting-told-off-because-the-parents-think-that-it-was-him-who-asked-for-certain-pictures-when-really-it-was-the-other-dodgy-guy-and-now-there-is-this-big-confrontation-and-it-isnt-even-the-right-guy-and-now-hes-really-scared-and-confused-and-i-just-feel-bad-for-the-guy-ahhhhh-

"Nononononono!" She says cuddling up with me even more, burying her head in my chest. Back up back up back up. She buried her face in my chest. I immediately freeze. I slowly, and I mean slowly, ease into her sort-of embrace and begin to relax.

Fast-forward: The movie is over. Nya is completely cuddled up with me, her face in my chest, lightly sleeping. I don't move in an attempt to not wake her. I gently stroke her hair and kiss her forehead, "Goodnight Nya. I love you." Step 3 always works out.

"Goodnight Jay." Crap, she knows I-

She giggles, clearly tired. "You're not too bad yourself you know..." she whispers, stifling a yawn. She relocates her hands to my neck to make herself more comfortable, her hands teasing the ends of my hair. My arms come to hold her by the waist, preventing her from falling onto the floor.

Just when I thought the moment couldn't get anymore intimate, she raises her head to give my cheek a small peck with her lips, before resting her head on my shoulder again. My freckles are almost invisible as the heat gathers to my face once again. I close my eyes, slowly lulling off to sleep myself.

"They're so cute."

"Not as cute as yo- Mpff-,"

Seliel digs a pillow into Cole's face to successfully hide the blush that decided to creep on her cheeks...
And to give him a taste of his own medicine.
