~To The Story~

It started when his phone rang.

Karma was in the midst of a peaceful slumber. His room was dark and his house was empty. It was hard for him to get disrupted from his sleep. Except his sleep was disrupted by the familiar sound of his ring tone.

The redhead groaned when he heard his phone, telling himself why he did not put the phone on vibrate before he went to bed. Eyes still closed, his hand reached out to get his phone from under his pillow. When he got it out, Karma turned over to face the ceiling and checked to see who was calling him. Karma furrowed his eyebrows as he saw your name displayed on the screen through his half-open eyes.

If this was any other person he would hang up, turn his phone off, and go back to sleep, but since this was you, he didn't have the heart to do that, so he answered the call.

"(Y/n)-chan, I'm not buying you a late-night snack aga-" He stopped when he heard a quiet broken sob coming from the other side. Concern took over Karma. He rarely ever hears you cry. Why were you crying?

"K-Karma." You sobbed over the phone. Your friendly loving voice he adores so much sounded so hurt. "Can I come over?"

~One Week Later~

The rooftop of Kunugigaoka's Junior high was a common place to have lunch with your two close friends. It was pretty peaceful up here and better than the cafeteria downstairs with noisy people. You were having a shorter fuse lately so being surrounded by annoying people was the last thing you needed.

"The two of you.... got banned from the mall?" Nagisa asked. He didn't display a level of shock as any other person would. Mostly because this is you and Karma, he isn't surprised. His blue eyes were as calm as always. The wind slightly picked up causing his tide back blue hair to sway a little.

"The fireworks were harmless." You said plainly while holding on to your bento box. "So no one got hurt." You took a bite from your lunch.

"Why on earth would the two of you set off fireworks in the first place?!" Nagisa exclaimed.

"Because it's fun~" Karma playfully replied, acting as if that justifies the action you both took. His purple devil horns were poking out of his head.

"Please avoid getting arrested," Nagisa said with a hint of a desperate tone, seemingly worried about you and Karma.

"I think between the three of us Karma will be the one to get arrested." You said with such confidence, your chopsticks pointing at the redhead.

"I'm offended that you think that I'll get caught, (y/n)-chan."

"That offended you but the fact that she said that you'll get arrested?!"

You laughed wholeheartedly at what Nagisa said. "Hey, it's fine. Maybe I'll just be a lawyer when I'm older so I can fight for Karma."

"No, please don't, you'll be the worst lawyer ever," Karma says ever so bluntly.

"Hah?!" You irked, glaring at your redhead friend. "You know what, forget it then! I'll just be the person to report you for your crime!!"

"So cruel." Karma exhaled, pretending to look hurt before continuing to munch on the food your mother made for him so he would stop buying his food.

"You guys are so close." Nagisa smiled at you and Karma.

"Agh!!! When is the school day gonna end!!!" You comically shouted angrily.

"Why? You wanna go back to your bed and listen to sad breakup songs." Karma didn't hide his teasing tone. "I feel bad for your pet rabbit who is forced to listen to those sappy songs. Poor little guy."
