filler- chapter 9 [gillyweed]

"regulus, do you know where to find gillyweed?" i asked the dark haired boy reading next to me.

"why?" he looked at me curiously. after the wand weighing ceremony they announced that the first task was underwater, so i was right.

"i've read somewhere that it can be used to breathe underwater. i need it for the first task." i explained.

"its in the greenhouses, although you might need to ask professor sprout for it." he said, his eyes not leaving his book and i thanked him.

"wait, can you go with me?" i asked and he looked at me and rolled his eyes. he stood up and brought his book.

"the things i do for you." he muttered.

"you dont have to-" "just go" i smiled and we walked to the greenhouses.

"professor sprout?" i tapped on the door of the first greenhouse and she opened the door, letting us in. she smiled at us and i returned it.

"good afternoon professor, i was just wondering if you have any spare gillyweed? i kindof need it." i smiled at her and she looked around the room. i've always liked herbology, and i kind of consider professor sprout as a mother figure and i think she knows that.

"of course dear! but may i ask what you need it for?" she asked while still searching the room.

"its for the first task in the tournament." i said and she finally found it.

"do you need it now?" she asked me and i shook my head. "if you want i can just preserve it for you." she smiled at me and i muttered an okay.

"thank you professor." i waved and went outside with regulus. 

"why was i even needed there?" he groaned and i just laughed. he's kinda cute like that.

"you know what? i dont know." i said and he just pouted and took out his book. we walked back to the common room and we sat beside each other. i decided to look over what he was reading and it was just about history, kind of boring. but if he likes it then okay.

i suddenly felt something on my hair and i discovered it to be regulus playing with it. aw, cutie. (im so sorry if you wear a hijab or dont have hair.) i didnt realize i stared at him until he suddenly looked at me discreetly but i quickly looked away. i decided to just read a random book on the desk. quidditch throughout the ages? brilliant.

"l/n, someone is looking for you." snape suddenly appeared and i tugged on regulus' robes. 

"please?" i asked and he sighed. we went outside and i looked around but i saw no one. maybe snape was pranking me? 

"stealing y/n for a bit, dont worry. i'll give your girlfriend back in one piece." molly suddenly pulled me and before he could protest we were already far from him.

"the first task is close, are you ready?" she asked and i nodded.

"i think? i mean i think not. i really think not." i said and she face palmed, what did i do?

"just letting you know YOU'RE the champion of hogwarts, not regulus. so maybe stop attending to him?" she teased and i got flustered a bit. 

"hey!" i protested and she just looked around. whats happening?

"dont tell anyone i told you this but i heard evan rosier likes you." she suddenly said while looking at them. i followed her gaze and i saw a group with three boys, all looking suspicious as shit.

"how is that relevant to anything i just said?" i asked her and she turned back at me.

"well, maybe they can help you with your first task. you know, if your boyfriend is busy." "he's not my boyfriend!" i explained and she just looked at me, obviously not believing me.

"sure, sure." she said and suddenly muttered a 'bye' then left. what?
