-Shase's POV-
"They keep whispering about me," I whine into Jesse's shoulder.
She pets my head, "They don't know anything. Just ignore them."
I whimper a little as she grabs my hand and leads me to my last class. Getting up, I wobble a little from all the medication I'm on and the pain in different areas. I want to punch a wall, but I also want to hug everyone. Ugh! Is this how all pregnant women are? Bitchy? Lovey? What the fuck? I trudge into the room and take my seat. I lay my head down on my desk as the rest of the students file into the room as the bell rings. I get tapped on my shoulder and I look up. My eyes widen at who is in front of me.
"W-What are y-you doing h-here?" I stutter in a whisper.
He smiles and shakes his head at me, "You should know that answer by now. Let's talk after class. It's been a while. We need to catch up on a few things." He walks past me and sits in a seat in the back of the class.
I ignore his presence and give all my attention to the teacher. The bell rings and I stay in my seat until everyone is out of the class room. I pack my things slowly and get up. I walk out to Jesse and he's standing right there, having a conversation with her.
"Oh, hey Shase. How do you guys know each other?" Jesse asks, noticing me in the doorway.
Kelsy answers for me. "We're childhood friends, aren't we Kagami?"
I nod and stand beside Jesse.
"Jesse, you wouldn't mind if I took Gami home today would you? We haven't seen each other in a long while and I think we should use this time to catch up."
She smiles and nods, "Sure, if that's okay with Shase?"
I only nod and she walks away saying goodbye to the both of us.
Kelsy puts his arm around my shoulders and guides me down the hall. "Do you need anything from your locker?" I shake my head. "Don't worry Kagami. I fully intend to take you home to your uncles. I just want to spend some time with you."
"W-Why now? W-Why me? I'm t-the one who put y-you in jail." Jeez! Stop stuttering like an idiot!
"No you didn't. Your parents did. You were the victim anyways. I came to finally apologize. You never wrote back, so I'm guessing you never got my letters."
He sounds sad. Wait, he wrote to me? Why didn't I ever get any letters?
We were now outside, walking to his car. He removed his arm a while ago, but I continued walking beside him.
"I apologized to you in every letter I sent," he whispers. He stops walking and I stop with him.
We are at his car, but neither of us make a move to get in it. I notice it's the same car as it was 8 years ago. Still in great condition. How old does that make Kelsy now? 24?
"Is there a chance that you will ever forgive me Gami? I really am sorry for what I did," he says looking down at me. He's so tall.
Looking at his cute pout, I wonder why he terrified me. Oh wait. He's tall, covered in tattoos, and is creepy when he talks. I did like those things about him though. I always forgave him for everything when we were younger.
I smile a little and nod. "Maybe."
He smiles brightly and hugs me tightly.
I flinch at the pain it caused in the pressure against my stomach.
He pulls back and looks down at my hands holding my tummy. "Are the rumors true?"
I look away from him. "What rumors?" I ask, trying to make it seem like I have no idea what he's talking about.
"The ones about you being p-pregnant." His face reddens at the word.
So now he decides to be shy?
He averts his eyes. "Sorry, you don't have to say anything. Let's get going or your uncles will get worried."
I nod and we get into his car.
After a few minutes, I decide I should tell him. Maybe he'll leave me alone afterwards. If not, I'll have to just get used to him being around again. "They're true."
He sighs. "Wow. Was it that guy at the music concert? The one with the black hair?"
I nod and I begin to cry at the mention of Freddy. It still hurts.
"What's wrong? Did I say something?" He asks frantically.
I laugh and shake my head at his panic. I forget about the whole thing. He is the same as he used to be. Just maybe a bit creepier though.
He pulls up to my uncles house and we both get out.
There is something that has been bothering me since I saw him in my classroom. "How the hell did you get into the high school? Your six years too late for it. How'd you get them to let someone your age get in?"
He laughs and puts a finger to his lips. "That's a secret." He walks me up to the door. "Can... Can I give you a ride to school tomorrow?"
"Why?"
"Like I said earlier, I want to spend time with you. If you don't mind, that is."
"Sure, but I don't know if we should be alone together like today. I'm sorry, but I still don't trust you."
"Yeah! Okay! What about your friend Jesse? If she's around can I spend time with you?" He asks hopefully.
I think about it for a minute. Jesse wouldn't mind, would she? I'll have to ask her. "I'll ask her when she comes over later."
"Okay. Can I take you to school tomorrow at least?"
I hesitate. "Yeah. I'll see you later."
I go inside leaving him with a gigantic smile plastered on his face.
"Who was that?"
I jump at the sound of Blake's voice behind me. I spin around and he's standing there smiling like an idiot. "Don't scare me like that!" I yell at him.
He giggles. "Sorry, sorry. Who was that? He looked a lot older than you, but he was cute! He even drove you home! Who is he? Who is he?"
I flinch as his voice gets louder and louder. "This guy I met at school, okay?"
"What's his name? How old is he? Did you tell him that you're pregnant? What did he say?"
I walk away from his bombardment of questions.
"Answer me, Kagami! Don't walk away from me!" he yells, running towards me.
I hurry into my room and shut the door before he can continue his nonsense. I lay down in my bed and with the intention of taking a small nap, instead I think of nothing but Kelsy. Questions circling my head.
Why is he acting this way? Should I trust him? Why now? Why didn't I get any letters? Who kept them from me? Why did he do it if he was just going to apologize afterwards? Why am I going to forgive him? Why are my feelings for him returning? Why do I have to be like this?
