"Next up for the talent show, we have Gerard Way, performing an original song," someone said over the microphone in the school auditorium. Everyone sat silently, waiting for me to start. I walked onto the stage. I was wearing the jacket that Mikey made me. He was sitting in the front row. I winked at him. I put my camera down on the ground and motioned for the girl who told me about Frank being in the hospital to give me another microphone. I put my microphone down next to the camera. When the girl ran off the stage, I looked at Mikey, and he nodded. Tears formed in my eyes and ran down my cheeks. Mikey got up and pressed the button on the camera. I opened my mouth, and it felt dry. I continued with all of my might to get the words out.

When I was
A young boy
My father
Took me into the city
To see a marching band

Then, Franks acoustics started playing; blared through the auditorium.
I brushed off my jacket. My Black Parade jacket that Mikey had made for me

He said "Son when
You grow up
Would you be
The saviour of the broken
The beaten and the damned?"

By this time, I was shaking and crying, but I kept singing. I needed to finish the song. For Frank.

He said "Will you
Defeat them
Your demons
And all the non-believers
The plans that they have made?"

My voice sounded great but the sniffling sounds in the middle of my words made me sound weird.

"Because one day
I'll leave you
A phantom
To lead you in the summer
To join the Black Parade."

The music came to an instrumental part. Frank (in the video) began to play louder and more emotional. I broke down.

We'll carry on
We'll carry ooon.
And though you're
Broken and defeated
Your weary widow marches on

Mikey started whispering , "Do or die, you'll never make me. Because the world, will never take my heart," along with video camera Frank. I sang the last part, "WE'LL CARRY ON!"

The guitar came to an end. Then, from the video, echoed the words "I love you, Gerard."

The whole auditorium started to cry.
