Katniss P.O.V

My name is Katniss Mellark
I'm 29 years old
I am married to Peeta Mellark
I have a daughter Willow Mellark
I have a son ...... but not for long

This is all I keep saying to myself through the night. Ever since the doctors gave us the news I have not been able to sleep.

(Flashback)

" Mrs.Mellark? I have some bad news about Rye. I think you should wake your husband. " Says Doctor Lewis. I wake Peeta. " Mellarks I'm sorry to tell you but your son was born with brain cancer we just found it an hour ago.... Your son because of the fact he is so young. Will not make it. " She says.

My heart snaps immediately.

" How long does he have." Peeta asks. " He has around 5-6 weeks I'm so sorry." Doctor Lewis says as me and Peeta burst into tears.

How are we gonna tell Willow she just got Rye and now we're gonna lose him. Everyone was so happy to meet him. They said he was perfectly happy and healthy 4 hours ago. It's around nine a.m so I guess I might as well get out of bed anyway.

" Peeta?"
" Yes Katniss?" He replies. " Is there a chance Rye might live." I ask. " Just maybe if we pray.

About 6 days later they finish all the exams and we go home. I decide to call Annie and her son Finnley and Johanna to come down to see him before he goes.

The next they get here right after I get of the phone with Doctor Lewis. She calls every day.

" Hey brainless." Johanna says about to cry. Which confused me because she never cries. I hug her and she goes and sits down with Peeta. I go to the door to see who's knocking and I see someone I thought died.

................ FINNICK ...............

" Finnick? I .... I ..... I thought you were dead?" I say as I look at Peeta to see who is as shocked as I am. " Well I guess I have some explaining to do. Annie come on in." I see Annie walk in holding her three year old son Finnley Odair's hand. And might I say, he looks just like Finnick. " Hey auntie Katniss and Uncle Peeta." He says. " Hey Finnley." I say brushing his hair out his eyes.

" Hey Annie." I say hugging her. " Hey Annie can I go take Katniss with me so I can explain what happened?" She nods I go kiss Peeta and walk out the door.

Turns out when the lizard mutts attacked him he survived by slowing his heart beat down so they would think he was dead. Once they were gone he was taken in by someone and was healed till he could go to Annie. I tell him about Rye and he looks as sad as I do.

When we head back to my home I hear screams coming from the house. Annie's screams. I hear Willow screaming to and Rye and Finnley crying.

I run and get Haymitch and walk in my house to find Peeta .......

Trying to kill Annie.
