⎯ "things change, people change, feelings change too. never thought the circumstances would've changed you."
/(name) clocks katsuki in the face"See you soon," she shut the door, hand lingering on the knob for a moment. 6 weeks. Her cheeks were sore from smiling.
Aguri was awake.
"She sure is a sweet one." The nurse hummed, ushering her through the lobby to the taxi at the hospital entrance. (Name) nodded, still irked she was asked to leave so quickly when she hadn't had a proper conversation with her sister in years.
But Aguri did need to rest. She was just happy there were no complications given how long she was on life-support. A smile rose to her face again, watching the city fly by as U.A's massive gates came into view.
She thanked the driver, dropping her belongings as soon as she entered the dorm. A voice sounded at her arrival, asking how the visit went. Her feet danced into the kitchen, twirling on her tiptoes as she spotted some familiar heads in the common room.
"Wow," Kaminari's jaw slackened as she walked in, fascinated eyes trailing over the newly textured areas of her skin. "That looks badass."
"Thanks," (Name) sighed, sitting cross-legged on the floor beside him. Maybe she should've worn the sweater. Ice cubes clinked in her glass as she set it on the coffee table.
Her fingers gingerly smoothed over her arms, half out of relief, half out of insecurity. There were jagged scars, ranging from her bicep to her forearm — proof that Shigaraki wasn't lying when he said he'd use his quirk.
"Yeah! All great heroes have battle scars." Kirishima made a frame with his hands, squinting as he angled it at her. A thumb pointed to the mark on his right eye, picking up the cards dealt in front of him.
They were under 'house arrest'. Not for meddling and creating an alternate tracker, but for using their quirks without a license. Even though attending class was prohibited, they could still use the school facilities. Which was basically a vacation.
Their friends kept them busy doing what they do best — laughing at stupid stuff and fooling around like the free spirits they were. Except it all went a little too smooth when a certain presence was abscent. Things weren't completely the same.
Unlike them, Katsuki wasn't so eager to spend time together. He didn't open his door when they knocked, and the only sign he was alive was the lingering sweet scent in the gym when she went with Kirishima, and the clean dishes she found in the washer at ungodly hours in the morning.
"Guys, since everyone's settled and stuff," Mina wiggled her eyebrows, peeking out from behind the cards in her hands. "Why don't we have a dorm contest?"
"You just wanna peek at people's rooms, you creep." Sero snorted, slapping his last card onto the table with a fake yawn. "You know guys, it's exhausting always being the winner—ow!"
