"Are you sure you wanna do it?" Keefe asked me as we peered over the edge of the skyscraper. Everyone else down below looked like tiny ants rushing to get to work on time. I looked at the growing line of people behind us,
"Well, we came here for adventure." I said shrugging. I kissed Keefe before diving over the edge head first. The rush of air passing my body as I fell down the side of the building was exhilarating. But it was only a couple of seconds before I felt the rebound of the bungee cord pulling me up jerkily before I fell the rest of the way. I laughed freely, feeling so relieved from all the problems and dangers back home. We had to convince Grady and get the majority of the Councils vote to even be aloud to use the blue crystal to come to Toronto. The Neverseen have been causing havoc ever since the battle at the dwarven castle. So we left to the human world for some stress relief fun. Against the better judgement of Councillor Emery, Bronte and Zarina.
"Coming up!" The bungee jumping attendant called out. I straightened out into a star position as they rolled the lever, slowly pulling me up.
"How was it Foster?" Keefe asked as I stood up on the platform.
"Amazing!" I gushed as I turned toward the attendant to get un-clipped . Keefe smiled happily,
"How about one more time then, for a good measure as we are off to Venice tomorrow. We can do one together." I looked to the attendant who nodded and began strapping Keefe into a harness.
"Ready. Three, two, one," The attendant counted.
"Jump!" A nasally voice cut in from behind us. I turned to where the familiar voice was. I felt hands on my back before I could see who it was, though I already had a pretty good bad feeling on who it was. I was free falling with Keefe by my side before I could say 'maple syrup'. I screamed loudly as the ground came closer and closer. I looked to Keefe in desperation, trying to find words but I blacked out.
~~~
I awoke in a dark room tied to a metal chair. I struggled against the tight ropes, binding my hands together. I blinked my eyes, trying to make them adjust to the darkness surrounding me.
"Sophie Foster. The Child Prodigy." A voice said from the darkness. I swung my head around trying to pin point where it was coming from, but it felt as though it was coming from above me. All of a sudden the lights flooded on. I scrunched my eyes tight as my head blared in pain from the quick change of lightness. I squinted through my eye lids still looking around. "Elf with many talents. And yet, we caught you whilst you were falling from a sky scraper. My my. What people will say when they hear that we have you. The strange voice gloated.
"And who is we?" I asked, my throat dry. The voice laughed and the room went dark again.
"You know who we are!" The booming voice declared and the lights shone bright again as a face appeared before me, or rather a not face. I recoiled in shock.
A/N New story line perhaps?
Until Next Time! ;-)
